Holiday Suites Port Barton

I think it’s overpriced for Port Barton. They advertise as a nice hotel but really it’s mediocre service. Staff is nice but the service is so-so.

Best beach front of Port Barton!! Room ok, breackfast ok.

Our honest review, bad experience. We stayed for 2 nights. The room itself was clean, but everything else was horrible. We rented a scooter. This was arranged by the hotel. We got the scooter without gas. The only reply we get is to go to a tankstation nearby. Maybee our standards are to high, but the least would be a full thank of gas and offcourse we return it with a full tank of gas. This was no problem on Siquijor where we also rented a scooter. You can’t eat or relax in the hotel/beach, because there are always at least 5 streetdogs roaming arround begging for food. We also feel that the ground was dirty for a longer time. The food itself was okay. But the waiting time for the food was too long. It even took so long that we couldn’t eat beakfast on the day we left, because we had an arranged transfer to El Nido at 08:00 AM. We ordered arround 07:00 AM. Waiting an hour is not normal. About the transfer. We asked for a transfer to our hotel in El Nido. This was no problem. A van will drive us to the hotel. We had plenty of space and airconditioning. This was not the case. We were packed like sardines without airconditioning. After 3 hours we hear from the driver that he will not bring us to our hotel. He just doesn’t do those transfers. The frustration level was high. We normaly don’t write reviews, but this one is neccessary. The resort could be a fantastic place. It’s very beautiful from far, but so horrible from nearby. Think twice when you book. We are sure there are much better resorts in Port Barton.

They have RATS on the drop ceiling!! ROOM 211 Don’t stay here !! We hear them the first night but we didn’t know what it was. The second evening we arrive and they were eating the sugar near the kettle, and instant coffee When we arrived to room the first day we noticed a smell with strong odor similar to raid or something like that. Because we saw small ants we thought that was the reason of the smell. Nop! They put some spray but they don’t solve the problem, they have holes on the drop ceiling! I think they know and don’t do anything!! The first morning I gave a list of things didn’t work in the room, the hose for the bidet was leaking, the bathroom fan didn’t work and the door chain broke when someone walk in to our room by mistake because the card key works also in our room. We were at bed already when someone walk in! Not the guest fault it’s the hotel fault because they gave a key that works in 2 rooms !! The last thing was that the floor was dirty with sand as soon as we check in. Everything happened to us here! We are in a 3 month trip in SE Asia never been in a hotel with all this problems and RATS!! The breakfast is very poor get food someplace else… even that’s included. Update after the rats situation: none !!! We got some help from the guy at night shift, he gave us a room but it took me 1 hour to deal with this at 1 am in the morning. The next morning we left ! NEVER AGAIN

Great view by the beach, in the middle of town, swimming pool is OK it was filthy though, the staff are Ok, not very friendly though i think they are under staffed, we had to carry all our laugage through check-in and check-out, bed and pillows are super uncomfortable, cute little room though, Breakfast is shocking absolutely disappointing, NO effort or whatsoever, they served rice,rice soup, eggs, a sausage you can't eat, and a sardines.. NOTE it wasn't free we paid it with the Room rate.

We choose this hotel based on the reviews in Tripadvisor, unfortunately there are not many good hotels in Port Barton and this is supposed the best one, breakfast is regular one, not based on foreign necessities, rooms are medium size and clean, sane than rest of premises in the hotel, however hotel do not have a contingency plan for unforeseen events, we have had problems with wifi, up and down during two days, electricity short cuts, there is not generators to compensate this, and last water cuts, when asking to reception the depot was used for laundry instead of guess, from my point of view human higiene is first and later on laundry due to is possible to have extra towels, sheets and so on but is really uncomfortable have dinner full of sand and sea salt
