Rey Lagarto Hostel

Very clean and nice hostel. Very friendly staff and very helpful. Great facilities for this price. Excellent place. Clean room, friendly staffs and helpful. Never once they didnt SMILE to their customers. It's been many times for me to check in with this hotel

The check in was smooth. I as a non-Chilean didn't need to pay the extra taxes. It's 1.5km from centro, but that's not a big problem. I walked back and forth to centro, and I felt safe even at late night. The room was ok. The bunk bed was sturdy. There were 3 living areas: indoor, roofed outdoor, and rooftop. Rey Lagarto has the typical international hostel vibes and services. The major room for improvement was the wifi, which was slow and unstable. I'm not sure if this was about the geography of Atacama.

I spent a wonderful week in San Pedro at this hostel. The walk to the village is a mystic one, with the Andes and the Licancabur volcano at the horizon. Don’t need to stay at the center, all tours and the airport shuttle pick you up directly at your place. Rest of the time you can chill at the hostel, it has three different areas with a beautiful terrace.

The bed broke in the middle of the night and we had to fix it. The staff was nowhere to be seen and they put loud music till 10pm. The sheets were dirty and the shower drain was a hole that filled the room with sewer stench. It was the only hostel in a month of travelling that asked for half of the price paid in advance a month ahead. We paid 46$ for one night which is not even close to a good quality/price standard. Moreover, the attached picture shows how professional the manager is. She sent this private text on my WhatsApp, making fun of me and of my review.We travel a lot and never happened to be treated like that.

Hostel Rey Lagarto es un lugar fabuloso para pasar unos días en San Pedro. La relación calidad-precio es simplemente espectacular. El lugar, más que confortable, con una excelente atención, buena limpieza y espacios comunes cómodos. Cuenta con una terraza muy agradable. Ideal para ir con amigos, familia o pareja. Fui con amigos un fin de semana largo y el dueño del Hostel organizó un asado para los pasajeros. Lo pasamos de lujo, hasta cantamos karaoke con el resto de huéspedes. En fin, el Hostel es más que recomendable, sin duda alguna volveré en mi próxima visita a San Pedro.

Me encantó mi estadía, la pasé increíble. Es limpio y ordenado sin dejar de ser entretenido, los espacios comunes funcionan muy bien, creando el clima idóneo para la interacción entre viajeros. Adicionalmente, el staff (Yanet) es súper amable y nos ayudó con todas nuestras dudas, además cuando tuvimos un problema con otro hostal y nos tuvimos que marchar de aquel, el Rey Lagarto nos recibió con los brazos abiertos, brindándonos soluciones y un lugar bacán. Lo único que mejoraría sería el aire acondicionado ya que pasamos mucho calor en la noche. En conclusión es un hostal que vale totalmente la pena y tiene la mejor relación precio/calidad.
