Villas Playa Samara Beach Front Resort

I loved this place! I’ve read bad reviews but honestly I think North American travellers are ridiculous in their expectations. The staff are all lovely helpful people. Christian at the restaurant was absolutely outstanding with his service and energy! He knew how travellers expect to be treated. I loved our villa room steps from the beach, no stairs, elevators or anything that resembled that typical condo /cafeteria style mega resorts. The grounds were beautiful. The beach was excellent for walking with lots of places to stop and grab a drink. Samara town is beautiful and full of local activities and incredible places to eat. You feel safe . Yes, sure there are few things that could be improved as the resort transitions to being an al inclusive marketed to North Americans. But they have staff issues just like we do. If you needed anything they were quick to respond when asked nicely. It quaint, homey, easy to talk to people and make acquaintances. The pool is lovely. Air Transat is also an excellent tour company and airline. Zero issues. I would recommend this vacation package all day long ! Had an excellent experience. Starting with the positive side this is a nice small hotel to stay for a few nights, its villas, pools and overall facilities are good, clean and family welcoming, HOWEVER their concept of all inclusive is far from good and below normal expectations, they only have 1 restaurant for all meal times and their meals menu is limited to 3-4 options, their snacks are pretty much on demand with limited options, their drinks are good but again limited licor brands and they kinda change times the bar and pool bar are open until. If you are looking for an all inclusive resort this NOT your place, but still a good option to stay for a few nights with standard service. Samara is a nice beach with a great sunset view, you can also visit Carillo (5min drive) which in my opinion is one of best beaches in South Guanacaste.

Our stay was great. We stayed in one of the villas. Staff were super friendly and they were always happy to go the extra mile to make our vacation extra special. Fressia welcomed us for breakfast every day at the restaurant with a big smile for us and our girls. She was amazing with our girls. Food was great. Rolo at the beach club was very kind and friendly. Lunch at the beach club was amazing and dining right in front of the beach was paradise. Facilities are very well-kept and clean, pool is big and safe for kids, decor is beautiful. We will come back ❤️
