OYO Cornerstone Manor Hotel

Very disappointed!! I appreciate I booked a budget room and did not get expect luxury however , my experience was awful. Check in was confusing , I was given a lock box code and told to take my key but there were several room keys so did not know which one - fortunately, someone did come to my assistance and they were pleasant enough but gave little info as to whether breakfast was included or even an option to pay for. My room was absolutely freezing . Whilst I appreciate it’s been a lovely weekend weather wise in Manchester, it’s April the nights and mornings are cold , this is an old house and needs an occasional blast of heat to ensure it’s comfortable. When I came back from an evening out it was in complete darkness so I had to navigate my way in pitch black up the stairs to my room , I tripped and fell which Resulted in a large bruise , fortunately I did find a light switch once I have made it up the stairs . The TV in the room did not work and neither did one of the limited plug sockets . It was all very eerie as I didn’t see another single person for the remainder of my stay . The place is in a fantastic location and has the potential to be cosy and inviting however needs some serious money spending on it . I was booked on Friday and Saturday however , had to leave on Sat evening and check into the premier inn as was not enjoying it one bit

We have just returned from a weekend in Sale, and we were thrilled that we had found such wonderful accommodation! Tony was so hospitable and welcoming. The room was very clean, with real character, and thoughtful touches. Breakfast was delicious, both the cooked and continental options. The guest house is in a great location, close to the tram, and we also had a lovely walk along the canal into Sale on one day. Highly recommended.

Cornerstones is a fab little guest house. It is in a convenient location near the tram and major roads. The rooms are beautifully decorated and are spotlessly clean. I stay here monthly for work and it is always excellent and very good value. The hosts are friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. There's also a good sized car park.

Immaculately kept garden. Immaculate room. Immaculate bathroom. Ample supply of random books to read. Quirky decor but unique not gaudy. We had the first floor bedroom at the front. It was supposed to be sound-proofed but the sound of the traffic still came through. I did manage to get to sleep though as the bed is the cosiest I have encountered in a hotel / guest house. I was woken up by the toilet next door at 5am - it has a maserator so is noisy. Maybe if you get a room away from the shared loo it may be OK? We didn't have the breakfast as it was too late in the morning and wanted quite specific foods before a sports event. As a same-sex couple we were a little put out to be asked - you are aware its a double room?
