Auberge du Vieux Moulin

We had a wonderful stay with innkeeper Kevin and his wonderful team. They went above and beyond for a great French Canadian winter holiday. The grounds at the auberge are beautiful, and there are so many winter activities to take part in. We were able to try cross country skiing, skating on a frozen lake, hiking, snow shoeing, ice fishing, and even snow mobiling. Being from a much milder winter home, we loved it all! Some of us also enjoyed the outdoor hot tubs. We did the breakfast and dinner plan, since we didn’t want to cook or to be driving around the area in the snow. The multi-course dinners were amazing! Our room was comfortable and clean and we loved having a wood fire each afternoon and evening in the fireplace. It was a perfect winter holiday for us as a family, and we hope we’ll come back again one day.

WHAT AN AMAZING PLACE FOR A FAMILY. you have access to everything. Paddle board, peddle boat, kayak, canoe. There is a game room inside the auberge.

The place is amazing, they have a restaurant where the food is very good, its very clean and you have access to kayaks, mountain bikes, etc free of charge, just that the owner, Mme Silvie is the most obnoxious person I have ever met. Not sure if she is a hard core xenophobe, her attitude much more pleasant with the french speaking clientele. With us and some other anglo families, she was so passive aggressive I could not stand it. Just as an ex, my kids were playing with a paddle boat that was missing a cap so water went inside, when my husband tried to pull it out of the water, he made a comment asking her if its normal for water to go inside (he did not see the missing cap and her reply was "its because of the way your kids played with it". Whatever my kids were doing they were like: dont put the plastic ball in the water (it was from the stuff they were allowing us free access to) or when my 9 year old took a fishing rod and he was fishing at the far end of the ponton, no one else on the beach, she went to tell him he needs to take a fishing boat and go far on the lake to fish, not on the ponton and on and on.

It is a wonderful relaxing place owned and managed by a wonderful attentive family and employees. They have a small lake with no motor boats. They offer kayaks, pedal boats, SUPs. There is a sandy beach, a slide and a trampoline on the water and another one on the beach. Good for families. There is another area reserved fir adults that is quiet and by the river. There are spas. You can feed animals and go walking. There is an indoor pool. A pool table and other games. It is peaceful. The food is great with local ingredients, the menu changes and the staff is very accommodating.

Heureuse découverte! 5 jours en famille de 8 personnes(11-79 ans) Superbe auberge en bois rond chic mais très sympa et familiale. En pleine nature. Belles grandes chambres donnant sur le lac sans bateaux ( les nôtres 42,43,44, lit king, lit queen escamotable , divan-lit, foyer) très propres ou sur la rivière et les spas et la piscine extérieure. Bonne literie, clim silencieuse, salle de bain complète. Plein d’activités pouvant occuper les jeunes et les plus vieux: kayaks, pédalos, paddles boards . Terrains de volley et de badminton. Manège pour les enfants, pétanque finlandaise etc. Trampoline sur l’eau dans un grand tube qui a fait la joie des jeunes. Kayak au lac ou dans la belle rivière Noire. Pas le temps de s’ennuyer. Même un parc de chevreuils près des Box pour les familles et des chalets. Piscine intérieure en cas de pluie, et spas et piscine extérieure dans un merveilleux cadre au bord de la rivière. Coin de relaxation avec hamacs. Le rêve! Plusieurs petits salons dans l’auberge. Très bonne cuisine variée aux saveurs locales et serveurs gentils et très efficaces. Merci Élisabeth, Sylvie et Alain. Personnel aidant et heureux d’y travailler. Plusieurs familles y revenaient depuis plusieurs années. Bon signe. Que dire d’autre que allez-y sans crainte. Vous serez comblés.
