The Lodge at Sea Island

The Lodge is one of our favorite resorts. The people are so welcoming, the grounds are beautiful, and the rooms are incredible. There was no need to go off property because golf, dining, and shopping are all available. In the evening a bagpiper serenaded guests. The restaurants and bar gave us options for meals and snacks. The floral arrangements were lovely and there was a special scent in the open area that was very nice. Shuttle service was available to get to the Cloister and back or you could arrange to drive one of their cars off the property.

Very unreasonable management. A category 3 hurricane was approaching and the resort was unwilling to give me a refund or cancel my stay. Arrived and there was no power with this exception of one part of the hotel. No internet or cable service. Could not order breakfast from the menu only a limited buffet. Two hour wait to eat dinner at the restaurant throughout the stay.

First time to Sea Island. Accommodations and staff are unmatched. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and are planning our return trip. We would encourage a stay at The Lodge.

The lodge offers the most peaceful and beautiful setting for complete rest and relaxation. It checks all the boxes for what a 'getaway from it all' should be. We look forward to visiting again soon!

This was a relaxing and serene trip for us. Everything was so peaceful and the staff was so friendly and helpful. The rooms were spacious, clean & comfortable. Many options for food and activities.

Sub par - very expensive for a moldy lodge. They seem to have forgotten how to provide customer service. There was no valet / the lodge smelled moldy and was dingy and the staff seemed uninterested. The golf course is nice enough but no one wants to brace 100% humidity for a 5 hour round. The food was great and the rooms are nice- however at $2000/ night I’d probably go to Palmetto Bluff or stay somewhere else and save some money…

Every aspect of The Lodge including the location, the hotel, the rooms, the food and especially the people and service were exceptional.

We had booked this as a golf trip for our husbands and a spa and shopping trip for my sister and me. Less than 2 weeks before a stay that we had booked 3 months prior. my sister and I got texts from the spa telling us the spa would be closed on Sunday and all of our reservations were cancelled. It took hours of back and forth phone calls to get in touch with the spa and get our reservations moved to Saturday and they did give us a 15% discount on our services. But most of the stores on Sea Island and St. Simon's are closed on Sunday, so we were not able to do the shopping that we had planned. The service was decent - everyone was nice - but we had to leave the outdoor area at The Lodge twice without getting our drinks because after waiting for 30 minutes, we were going to be late for our dinner reservations. Colt & Allison steakhouse was excellent.Just not sure we will return as the service was not commensurate with a high-end resort.

The hotel was lovely and for the most part the service was great. Our first room was small and we were able to upgrade to a superior room that was in fact superior with a patio and much more light. Dinner at the formal restaurant was wonderful as was breakfast each morning. My solo lunch without my husband was terrible. The food was not good, the shrimp was small, over-cooked and rubbery. I asked for butter for my toast and never got it. Then I was ignored for maybe 30 minutes and finally had to get up and ask for my check. I was the only solo eater which have accounted for the lack of service while other tables were being attended. I wrote and note card and mentioned it to the hostess and nothing came of it. For a hotel that stresses service the lunch and lack of follow-up were surprising. Despite the lunch, we plan to return since the hotel was lovely, grounds perfect and the service and food overall very good.
