Le Lanternon

As part of a larger trip, I decided more or less on a whim to visit the Île de Ré and I chose Le Lanternon based on photos. If anything, my stay surpassed my expectations. It could not be more ideally located, mere steps from the port and from the stops for either the bus from La Rochelle or the Inter-Iles Ferry. The house is beautiful and has been refurbished and decorated with a great deal of care. Rooms are available facing the port side or the garden side of the property. I chose "La Canopée" a very large top-floor room overlooking the beautiful garden, the pool, and neighboring rooftops. The entire town of Saint-Martin de Ré is so lovely as to seem nearly fictional and this room was equally idyllic. The host extended exceptional hospitality to me, was kindly complimentary of my French, and very happy to give me recommendations on where to dine and also suggested a great walk to a neighboring town since I -- to the horror of all other guests -- don't ride a bike. If you do (and of course you do!), you'll be able to get all over the island with ease! But even without wheels, I would have happily stayed longer. If you find yourself in Saint Martin de Ré I warmly recommend that you stay at Le Lanternon. Don't forget to go all the way to the top of the house and take in the view.

Amazing experience in this boutique hotel in the center of the main village. Only 10 en-suite bedrooms. You feel lucky to stay there. And the champagne apéritif on the exclusive top roof is a « not to be missed experience ». Big Thank you to the owners making us feeling so special.

Best place Ile de Re. This was an amazing place to stay on Île de Re. Best location, extremely clean and simply the quaintest place. Our host, Jerome was terrific and just added to the great ambiance plus served us delicious breakfasts. Overall, an “incontournable” in Saint-Martin de Re.

Séjour à saint Martin en amoureux j avais réserver une jolie chambre au secret ( reservé 3 semaines en avance ) en surprise à mon mari , à notre arrivée nous apprenons que la chambre réservez n est plus sois disant disponible !! Nous avons été placer dans une autre chambre ( sa aurai été adorable de nous prévenir avant sa peut arriver ) mais au tarif demandé, nous avons eu le droit à une chambre très jolie mais complètement opposée à mon choix 🤔🤔🤔🤔 bon on ne dit rien on est là pour passer un bon moment mais le tarif identique alors que les chambres ne sont pas comparable .. un peu déçu même beaucoup !!!!! 245 euros la nuit + 40 euros de petit déjeuner sa mérite d être à la hauteur !!! J aurai apprécier que les gérants donne un coup de téléphone !

Avons eu le coup de cœur pour cette magnifique demeure restaurée avec goût et où nous avons été très bien accueillis . Notre chambre (bateau ivre ) et notre salle de bain étaient spacieuses. . L’emplacement était idéal . Nous avons adoré !!!! Nous recommandons ! Stéphane et virginie Pasqualini
