Le Clos du Galion - Ile de Ré

My husband and I stayed 3 nights in June in a room categorized as Prestige on the 2nd floor with a sea view/view of the ramparts. Lovely room. Comfortable queen size bed. The website had conflicting information about the room location (ie stating it was on the first floor) but I emailed and was assured on the room location. We paid for the hotel parking. The public pay lot was right across the street so was very convenient although I don't know the cost. Hotel location was great. Staff was very helpful. Breakfast had a large variety and was delicious.

Another wonderful stay at Le Galion. The new addition of the villa, extension and pool have transformed the place making it an even more gorgeous place to stay. Very friendly staff attended to our every need. The pool is pristinely clean and the sun bathing and seating area is a great place to relax after a day of exploring. We were particularly impressed with the breakfast served in the villa dining area over looking the harbour. Fantastic selection of offerings and we loved the open kitchen where the chefs were preparing our cooked breakfasts. It’s a triumph for the hotel. We were extremely well looked after especially by Victor who attended to our every need as a group of 6 friends.

Lovely little hotel in a perfect position on the edge of the harbour. Quite noisy if guests have congregated around the pool for drinks. Car park very handy to keep car safe off the road but a little too small and tight for modern cars

Lovely Hotel with efficient and helpful staff. They stored our luggage a day in advance as we were staying with family who were leaving earlier than we were and could not be more helpful. receptionist organised a taxi for us on the day of our departure. It is difficult, to say the least to secure a taxi on the Island at the weekend. The Portuguese owner was omnipresent and even spoke a few words of Irish(gaelic). What more could you ask for?

Super hotel with a pool and friendly staff. Close to the port and park. Excellent options to eat and drink plus lots to do in St Martin. We hope to return many times for, sun, swimming and relaxation. Very reasonably priced for the location too.

We spent a peaceful couple of nights at the hotel. The room was large with wooden flooring and fabulous views of the sea and parkland. Jeanne at the reception desk provides the best level of customer service. Her restaurant recommendations were spot on. The hotel also offers a laundry service which was a godsend as we had been travelling for a few weeks. A bag of laundry was washed and ironed within 24 hours for 12 euros - fabulous! Can't wait to return. Thank you!
