The Regent, Rye

Hubby and I chose The Regent after reading the reviews. The motel is only a few minutes walk from Rye station and in the centre of town. We stayed in family room number 5 for one night as it was the only room available on our chosen date. The room and bathroom were very clean but the TV remote control was filthy as was the kettle - it didn’t help that it also had someone’s hair attached to it. The dressing gowns were a nice touch and the towels were lovely and soft. There was an ‘honesty box’ in the room containing water, canned drinks, chocolate, peanuts and crisps. If you don’t leave the correct payment the notice says they’ll deduct the payment for goods taken from the card you used to book the room with, plus they’ll take an additional £5 admin fee. We came down to the bar at 6.10pm and were greeted warmly. I noticed a sign on the board saying happy hour was between 5.00pm and 6.00pm. It would have been nice to have been given this information when we checked in. The Regent does not serve breakfast and the local cafes don’t open until 9.00am or 9.30am which is a shame as we’re early rises. All in all it wasn’t a bad stay.

Lovely little, unassuming from the front, motel, 5 mins from the cobbled old town. Lovely room with a gorgeous shower. Great little bar right underneath. Very friendly staff. Rey is very pretty and there's loads to do around and about. Had a lovely stay!

Great, central location, spotlessly clean, super comfy bed & good value. Lots of lovely eateries in immediate vicinity so don’t be put off by no breakfast provision. We stayed in the “Beach” super king room at the back of the property so very peaceful. Friendly welcome & easy check in/out.

Had a lovely stay at The Regent. Would recommend checking a room that was back facing. Staff friendly, very helpful and informative. A beverage a Stephens Bar is a must. Entrance around the back, no food on site plenty of food options locally. Hot showers

The Regent Hotel is a fantastic location and served our purpose really well. It has on sight parking and is within easy walking distance to the high street, the railway station and all pubs and restaurants. Each room is individually decorated, our room being the Beach Room. Completely refurbished with modern bathroom & king size bed. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Spencer’s Bar at the front was good fun.

Just returned from a 2 night stay in this holiday house. It has everything you need and is in a fabulous location near to Rye station and buses and all other amenities wonderful Rye has to offer. Fantastic hosts and many thanks to helpful Daniella. Will definitely return in the near future.
