The whole place needs a face lift and a good scrub, know it’s a budget hotel but if it’s basic everything needs to be clean at the very least. Walls with paint coming off, shower that is out the ark, dripping all night long! Worst thing for me was the room was like a complete sweat box, fan barely working, obviously does nothing. Traffic noise is horrific, cars racing up and down all night, and the crossing beeping from 5.30 in the morning, I know the time because I was still awake!! It doesn’t bode well when the owner is having a screaming match with a guest over parking at 10.15pm, right under our window. Pay more and go somewhere else!

The cleanliness of the bathroom was totally unacceptable and no room cleans were conducted as requested over a 3 night stay meaning bins were full and the state of the bathroom remained dirty. This left us unable to shower/clean due to the black mould and dust in the bathroom in particular. There were cracked tiles, black silicon and orange grout alongside the black mould which was clearly visible in most parts of the shower units we travelled with an elderly gentleman without standing health issues so we were unable to make use of the bathroom. The bin in the bathroom was caked in muck, there were muck splatters on the door frame and wall near the mirror suggesting this hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. There was brown limescale around the sink and taps also. The shower head and support was full of soap scum also suggesting this too. The room in general was filthy. There were marks and handprints on the mirrors, dust on all skirting boards, dirty window frames and windows and were beginning to doubt if the bedding was even changed between check ins/checkouts. The stay was completely spoilt by the unclean and unhygienic bathroom. Another concerning point is that 1 door remains completely unlocked at all times at the bath of the property leaving the b&b complexity unsecure. This was even pointed out by the owner. All valuables had to be kept in our car outside which even ended up being blocked in by their “maintenance guy”

Yes the hotel was budget, could do with a face-lift but it was very clean, the bed was extremely comfortable, clean towels, lots of mirrors for putting on make up, strong flush on the loo! Shower not as powerful but does the job, we had a great time...The walk was a bit of a steep climb one, but no 2 bus goes past and stops outside All Saints church which is literally opposite. You may wish to take sleep mask as emergency sign lights up in the dark!!
