If you are expecting to stay in the usual modern Travelodge- this one is anything but. Apparently built in 1873 as a terrace of 8 houses, and converted into a hotel in 1876. The rooms are massive with high ceilings, the bathrooms much the same. However I found it to be very comfortable and well up to Travelodge usual standards. Don’t expect the maintenance to be totally up to scratch though as due to its age, it needs a lot of TLC, the floors and stairs have the unique ‘creak’ as you walk about. There is a lift available. However, everything worked and the room was clean. Would recommend for the odd night as other hotels are a good £50 more a night in this area. I found the staff very helpful and the bar welcoming after my night out. I didn’t have the breakfast but again reasonable value. If you want to park your car it's hit and Miss for a space here, which is a reasonable £5 for 24 hours. All in all a nice stay. Would I use this again, yes I would.
