Hotel Locanda Cairoli

I've just stayed in this hotel for the past 4 nights. The entrance was hard to find after arriving late at night, but when we found the entrance and rang the bell, we received a warm welcome. The downstairs part of the building that you pass through is a bit rundown but that's no fault to the hotel. The boutique hotel was lovely,"a safe haven" in a busy place. The staff were wonderfully friendly and went above and beyond to cater for our needs. The room was cosy, the breakfast was nice, with plenty of continental options. The water was hot, plenty of fresh towels, and a little mini bar in the bedroom.The location was so central. We had a lovely few days in Hotel Locanda Cairoli. Thank you to all the staff. I would recommend this hotel to anyone going to Rome.

What a dump! The front door is usually locked. A second entry door is also locked. The entry is dilapidated (see photos ). The lobby is unusable unless you can get them to turn the lights and AC on. There is no bar. There is no ice machine, but they can get a few cubes from an old school ice tray. The beds are super hard, as are the pillows. The shower is about 20” square. The towel service is random. The water isn’t hot. I suppose it’s relatively cheap, and you get what you pay for.

My mom and I spent 4 days at this wonderful hotel. The staff was kind and helpful, the hotel is small and personal with wonderful attention to detail, the ambiance is warm and artsy and the location can't be beat. I recommend it to anyone looking for a more personal touch than a big institutional and sterile hotel. I get the impression that the negative reviews are from people who are not well-traveled in Europe.

Excellent service, unbelievable location, near Jewish ghetto, trastevere and all major touristic sites. Courteous personnel, clean room, extraordinary service. I stayed in the room for one person which was great and a very good price There was a small refrigerator in the room, and coffee/tea/hot water Bus stop very close to go everywhere. Artie Ed very easily from airport and also went easily to airport with bus and train

Nous tenons à remercier l’ensemble des collaborateurs de cet établissement (réception, service, ménage…) pour leur accueil, leur gentillesse et leur aide précieuse, qui ont rendu notre séjour très agréable. Nous avons apprécié le confort et la tranquillité de cet établissement, le mobilier soigné et le petit déjeuner convivial autour de cette grande table. Più che un hotel sembra un bed&breakfast. Si accede tramite portone condominiale e le stanze sono tutte sullo stesso piano (il primo). Reception non sempre attiva nelle ore notturne, al cliente vengono fornite le chiavi del palazzo. La stanza in cui ho alloggiato era molto piccola, bagno davvero molto vecchio e bisognoso di manutenzione. Cabina doccia con tenda, che lascia sempre molto a desiderare in termini di igiene. Colazione con poca scelta, su un tavolone unico per tutti gli ospiti. Ma l’aspetto più negativo è stato il trattamento riservatoci alla reception. Una divergenza di opinioni si è trasformata in un atteggiamento molto duro da parte del receptionist che, a mio avviso, ha avuto un atteggiamento davvero poco cortese.
