Hotel Oxford

Great hotel close to the attractions that we wanted to see and in a reasonable walking distance to the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain. Reception desk extremely helpful in organising a hop on off bus for those areas a bit further afield such as Vatican and the coliseum. Prices was fair for the location. Only down side was limited number of power outlets in the room but other than that we had a great stay and if ever back in Rome, which I think we will be, will book again.

An average stay. We had a room right as you came off the stairs (110) which maybe was bad luck. But you could hear EVERY step on the stairs. Incredibly loud. The rooms are NOT sound proof at all.... The bed was very uncomfortable, even for someone like me who liked a hard bed. The rooms have A/C units in them and a temperature gauge, but turning this to cold doesn't make it cooler. I asked about this as our room was very warm and was told there is no A/C and the fan is the only option. Our room was permanently warm which was not enjoyable. The shower was good, staff are friendly and location is nice. But would have thought more from a 4* hotel, especially given the other hotels along that street with the same rating.

Had a great time at this hotel. Location great, able to walk into Rome centre 15 to 20 mins. Hotel staff were so friendly & helpful. Lovely small bar & restaurant. Nice Italian restaurant literally 5 mins round corner & small supermarket short walk from hotel. Rooms very clean & nice.

We stayed at Hotel Oxford for 3 nights in early September! We were able to check in at 1:30pm which was so nice after a long flight from the states. We arrived around 9:00am, went to grab something to eat and explore a bit & returned around 1:30pm & the hotel staff already had our luggage waiting for us in our room. The hotel itself is great — very clean, nice & helpful staff. We had a double twin room, the beds were a bit uncomfortable but not too big of a deal! There is a small elevator to help with luggage. The hotel is located in North Rome - 15 walk from the Spanish Steps & 25 minutes from Trevi Fountain! Overall, a great experience, no complaints! Hotel is a small walk from Villa Borghese Estate & Come il Latte gelato! We enjoyed both! In terms of safety - we very safe in this hotel! No safety concerns! There was small safe in the room for valuables. The hotel is located within a block from the U.S. embassy as well.

This was our third visit to Hotel Oxford. The hotel is situated near to the American Embassy and a 10 minute walk to the nearest metro station at Barberini. This is a lovely quiet part of Rome and there are several nice restaurants nearby. The room we were in was small but very clean and functional. There is a bar and restaurant on the site. We chose bed and breakfast deal which was great with a good choice of food. This is ideal for people who don’t mind walking and let’s face it, when in Rome. , well it is very easy to walk.

First of all the staff are really nice and couldn’t really complain about them. Now the negatives this is certainly not a 4* hotel more of a 2*. The pictures on the website are very misleading which shouldn’t be allowed. We stayed in room 222 very basic with no facilities to make a drink in your room but does have a fridge that is stocked up we didn’t use the drinks in there but did buy our own and put them in. The room was very basic and had 2 single beds pushed together which really annoys me and find very uncomfortable some of the lights also did not work . The air con / heating switch did not work either. Wardrobe to hang clothes with a few hangers in with 2 draws. There was a small tv on the wall not that we watched it very much. Bathroom was ok and just ok not great if you’re on the larger side for the shower as this is very small. Breakfast was ok for a quick snack and drink before heading out it was continental with drink machines. We where woken at 6am everyday with the noise from the truck outside delivering to the hotel so very noisy when unloading full metal cages. Stairs in the hotel are not great not wide enough and very steep there is one lift for the hotel which you can get two people in at a time. We didn’t complain at the hotel as reading the reviews the rooms were all the same. I did contact easy jet before we went to try to change the hotel which they said we could Do but every hotel was full the only option we had was to change the destination which was not an option. Hotel is around 30 min stroll to the main attractions. First time in Rome and would go back but definitely not to this hotel. We booked through easy jet and for the price we payed I was very disappointed email sent to easy jet.

We checked in here as part of our 4 night family trip to Rome with BA Holidays. We rang BA, who after an explanation about the condition of the place, were happy to move us the following day. Just don't do it. Very tired to say the very least. Broken, mis matched and knackered furniture. Put- you- up beds, advertised as a quad room. They couldn't even give us a second (flat) pillow!!! Just avoid

This is at best a 3 star hotel in need of some modernising. It looks a little tired and dated but what it doesn't have in style it more that makes up for in other ways. Firstly the staff are exceptional. I have stayed in nicer hotels but not received close to the service we received here. Nothing is too much trouble. The bar and waiting staff are friendly and helpful. Reception staff go above and beyond to give restaurant recommendations, directions, order taxis etc. Our rooms were thoroughly cleaned every day and aside from the slightly shabby appearance of things, it was beautifully clean. Great location with easy (albeit long) walks to all of the main attractions. We are family who enjoy walking. The Colosseum was around a 40 minutes walk away, this was the furthest but if you don't like walking there is the metro, buses and taxis to take you anywhere. We would definitely return!

Lovely hotel , we were bed and breakfast, breakfast was lovely something for everyone. Hotel is 20 min walk from trevi fountain, so if have walking difficulties not good , staff are really friendly and helpful , towels bedding changed daily , would go bck
