Hatchway Hotel

This place is amazing! We were able to book a suite for an incredible price. 3 baths, 2 bedrooms, a kitchen, living room and a dining room. They even had an electric fireplace, dishwasher, oven and fridge! The pool was so nice and warm with a depth of up to 7 feet. The hot tub was elevated over the pool so that parents could enjoy it while keeping an eye on their kids. It’s also salt water which is supposed to be incredible for your skin. Everything was clean and freshly renovated. The staff was kind and polite. There is a barista right in the hotel, ready to make your drinks. The location is also amazing as you’re located in downtown Rockland. They have amazing shop and eateries to explore and enjoy. I absolutely love this place. This is NOT the old Tradewinds that has a bad reputation. This is Tradewinds on the Bay. You should definitely give this place a chance even if you’ve heard bad things. They are working very hard to rebuild their reputation and they have far exceeded my expectations. I will most definitely stay here again!

2 of my family members had a reservation for 2 nights during a non-busy, end of season time. They needed to cancel due to a hospital related illness and gave greater than 24 hour notice. The manager would not refund the full amount and still charged for one of the nights ($150). They would have rescheduled to stay another time, however now will not be staying here, ever. I’m locally involved in the Rockland community and workforce, and it’s sad that even the locals get treated this way. Please beware this place requires a 72 hour cancellation notice, when the other establishments in the area do not, and it’s not specified on their website.

Tradewinds on the bay. We loved it room was great. Short walk to many restaurants and its right on main street. The staff was great. The afternoon guy was the best. As i seen him the most . My only complaint was the stay was to short. The pool was nice and warm. You could just walk right in without having to grab yourself ( you guys know) . Thanks agsin Tradewinds. Jim Kohler

I had a reservation from 11 Oct-14 Oct. Receive the confirmation from RCI and talked to the hotel days prior. We show up to the hotel and they did not have a room assigned to us. We were sent to a different hotel for the first night, later we were told we have to do our own arrangements for the second night, because there was nothing they can do. We ended up sleeping in the car before start driving back home the following day. A very awful and embarrassing experience. I don't believe this is the way they trait all their customers, but there is nothing we can do about it.

I would avoid this hotel. NOT affiliated with the time share units it is attached to. 'Ocean View' was of the construction material and discarded appliances outside. Inoperable sliding screen porch door with scotch taped screen, and gaps that bugs 'enjoyed'. Porch light shining in through the window all night with no blackout shades. Room 'surface clean' but floor was filthy. No closet or anything to hang clothes on. No place to put suitcases. Dirty hallways. Unwelcoming 'lobby'. Pluses: Remodeled bathroom, okay bed, room seemed to be newly painted, price....harbor park across from the parking lot, and Main Street around the corner. Not worth saving money and not a pleasant stay.

I booked a room and the room randomly got canceled (was made aware through email). No explanation. I called a few times on a Saturday afternoon and no answer. No call back. Emailed and no email back. I travel a lot, and have never had anything like this happen!
