Checked in to be greated by a very heavy smell of dogs. It was very strong and we mentioned it to the staff who said they were pet friendly. We like animals but it was too much for us. The quadruple bed room was actually two singles pushed together as a double, and a cot futon bed. No sign of the fourth bed. The tea bags were water stained, and the tray and glasses were dirty. We used our own glasses and tea bags. There was no hot water for a shower, or even a shower mat, so after a uncomfortable night we left early for home. The room looked fine and the bathroom too but that was about it. No offer of compensation or partial refund just a sorry it was not what we expected. Loked great on the internet but not in practice sadly. Had so much better for paying lots less for 1 night.

Our elderly relations visited from the USA. For various reasons this was to be their last trip to England and more specifically Northampton. They requested we book a hotel that had a personal touch rather than a large soulless hotel. We looked around the area and settled upon The Roade House Hotel. After a two week stay I'm so glad we did. This is a lovely hotel with decent rooms and is run by a lovely couple. All the staff were so friendly and extremely helpful towards our relations. They made them feel very welcome and at home and went out of their way to help with any requests they had. The cafe is very nice and served great food at decent prices and again the staff were so helpful. At the end of their stay our relations said this hotel was just what they wanted and went a long way to making their last trip to the UK so special. We would thoroughly recommend The Roade House hotel as a lovely place to stay at very competitive rates.

Very nice and clean hotel - friendly staff and the room is super comfy Breakfast was superb! We also had dinner there which was as good as a home cooked meal. Really nice, a good choice of drinks and a nice place to u wind after a long day. It is also dog friendly!!! What else can you ask for?

Very underrated hotel just off junction 15 of M1 in a lovely Northamptonshire village. Bedrooms very clean and tidy with all usual facilities. Tastefully decorated. Fabulous yoga studio. Lovely cafe /restaurant which also serves vegan and gluten free dishes. Nothing was too much trouble. Would highly recommend.

I stayed at this lovely little hotel for one night whilst walking the Grand Union canal. It was really lovely and comfortable, and the staff could not have been more friendly and accommodating. The owner, Paul, was especially lovely and very welcoming. My room was lovely, and had all the amenities you would expect with a good hotel room. The bathroom was modern and clean with a very nice shower. I had a very small dinner and a light breakfast whilst I was there, and the food was very freshly made and delicious. Whilst I only had a one night, short visit, I cannot recommend this hotel strongly enough. If you are in the area and need a very comfortable place to stay, you will not find anything better. The owner Paul, was also kind enough to give me a lift down to the canal to continue my walk. Proof that there are still lovely people in the world.

What a village gem! Dog-friendly cafe that’s also a yoga studio, hotel & event space. Service is so friendly, so accommodating, and it’s genuinely dog-friendly. I’ve been quite a few times as a half way meeting point with family but it’s well worth specially seeking out. Such a lovely atmosphere and there are lots of unique workshops and events. Brunches are great. Cakes look amazing. Staff are great too. Also tried Maxine’s Sunday morning yoga class, today. Brilliant! It’s a luxury way to feel amazing. Wholehearted recommend - I can’t wait to visit again.

Modernised rooms,nice Breakfast.Peacefull.Lovely Staff,especially the Son of owner,s who were on Holiday.Attended to all needs.Very pleasant and friendly young man.An all rounder,Cooking,handyman,etc Clean and tidy hotel very close knit Family

We stayed at The Roade House for a couple of nights and found it to be a fantastic find. Dog friendly, clean and staff including owner Paul was very accommodating. We had peaceful stay and enjoyed a quality breakfast on our departing day, this was served promptly and hot. Would definitely recommend!

What a gem of a hotel- spotlessly clean, lovely room & fantastic hosts in Paul & Maxine. The breakfast in the cafe was delicious & it had a great atmosphere. We even tried a yoga class on Sunday morning & it was so relaxing. We were at a family party on the Saturday night & it was an excellent venue
