Alkmini Hotel

We are just back from our 10th year of visiting here. The reason we go back? Warm,friendly atmosphere, super staff, great food. Lovely clean pool. Comfortable apartment. The family that runs the apartments are so welcoming, and you want for nothing. If you need a lift,just ask, If you need anything in your room, just ask. The rooms themselves are very Greek... shower,toilet,sink. The kitchen area has a fridge,kettle,sink,cutlery, and crockery,also a table and chairs, but if you prefer, you have a balcony too. Very comfortable bed, and the apartment is cleaned every second or third day. What more do you need...your on holiday in the sun.

We’ve been coming to this lovely little 2-star family-run hotel for over 20 years with our family, and it never disappoints. It truly feels like a second home. While it may not have the flash of a luxury chain, it more than makes up for it with genuine hospitality and personal touches. From the moment you arrive, the owners greet you like old friends. Nothing is ever too much trouble – whether it’s arranging early breakfasts, recommending local spots, or accommodating last-minute requests. They’re always happy to help with anything you need. The rooms are simple but spotless, with everything you need for a comfortable stay. There’s a warm, lived-in charm that you just don’t get in larger hotels. Breakfast and dinner are always a treat – fresh, home-cooked meals made with care, often using local ingredients, and served with a smile. It’s one of the highlights of staying here and something we always look forward to. If you’re looking for somewhere affordable, welcoming, and full of heart, this place is a rare find. It may be rated two stars, but the service and warmth are five-star in every way. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!

Just home from a wonderful 10 days. Made very special from the very welcoming, friendly and helpful family of Michalis. Fantastic hosts, lovely place to stay. Our stay was made even more fantastic with the lovely Fotehini and Panayotis. 😍 thank you all hope to return soon xx

We came in on a late flight but the bar was still open for the traditional start of our holiday, an ouzo, a warm welcome and it just got better from there. The Alkmini is a very special place where the family that run it make you feel like a 5 star guest and a member of the family at the same time. The rooms are very Greek and I suppose reasonably basic but have everything you need. The bed is comfy with spare pillows in the wardrobe if needed. The room was clean and cleaned every other day with clean sheets, bed made and towels galore. Pool area is wonderful and a lovely pool to swim in. The food is plentiful and try to get down for the free breakfast. The hotel is an easy 10min walk to the beach and I would advise to try and go down to see the spectacular sunsets. Easy bus ride with bus stop at end of road to explore the rest of the beautiful island. The best thing about the Alkmini are the wonderful people that run it , we went for my wife's 50th birthday and they did everything to make it special with free fizz and lots of hugs and made it impossible not to return . Thank you to the fabulous Ritsa, Michael, Thanos and the rest of the amazing crew ...we will be back so get the Metaxa ready xxx

I completely agree with what a couple of reviews have said here — our experience was incredibly disappointing. I honestly can’t understand how some people are calling this place a “home from home” or raving about how wonderful it is. Maybe they stayed somewhere completely different, because what we saw was far from welcoming. The accommodation was outdated, poorly maintained, and not properly cleaned. Basic standards just weren’t being met. We encountered dirty floors, worn-out furniture, and an overall sense of neglect. It didn’t feel like anyone cared about the guests or their experience. I had hoped for a relaxing break, but instead we left early, disappointed and out of pocket. I wouldn’t recommend this place and won’t be returning.

We are a couple from the midlands.this will be our 17th visit to the alkmini this summer,what more do I need to say.an absolutely lovely friendly atmosphere created by wonderful caring family who run it.great food on site,lovely pool and pool bar, spacious rooms spotlessly clean,all in all,brilliant.yamas.
