Akti Imperial Deluxe Resort & Spa Dolce by Wyndham

We were a little worried after booking the hotel and then reading some of the reviews after, however our concerns were unfounded. A brilliant hotel, yes, its large and busy but its all well thought out, the food option is fantastic and a perfectly reasonable selection of drinks etc. its clean and well maintained. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The spa was very relaxing as well. I would recommend paying a little extra and getting a sea view as we used another room at the back of the hotel and your view would be the roof of the conference center. I do agree its not 5 star but 4+ and that's due to its size , because you don't quite get the 5 star service, that little bit extra that you would expect at that level, i.e. its a buffet style meal, no selection of wines etc. A few niggling issues are: They do not monitor the sunbed situation, residents seem to collecting the free towels from the spa then going straight out and placing them on sunbeds and never using them, we read that they are removed after 45 minutes but they were reserved all day. A lot of the sunbeds on the beach were broken. The lifts were terrible, as there are too many people using them all the time. You could wait about 5 minutes for one and if you could get in them because of people carrying large inflatables around. The pools were a little on the dirty side on some days with an algae build up, which was a bit gross in places, maybe a little more chlorine. otherwise we had a great holiday and would not hesitate in returning, in fact we are looking at one of the sister resorts in Kos for next year!

Amazing hotel. Everything all in one place. Entertainment outstanding. Staying in this hotel was quite an experience. It offers so much all in one place but it's huge. Food, so much choice and the themed restaurants a nice change. Didn't have the greatest view from our room but nice room and modern.

Terrible place. It's a wonder that Wyndham will put their name to this tourist trap. Too many guests on too small a space. Restaurant too small. Outdoor terrace of the bar much too small almost tiny. The inside seating by the bar had such high ceilings, that the noise was deafening. The beds in the room were so worn, that they were sloping towards the middle - making sleep an impossibility, as we would keep waking up because we kept sliding into the middle. The rooms facing the Iliadon road were a cacophony of noise at night, making sleep almost impossible. The pool area was a concrete hell of noise. The animation team were about the only positive thing about this place - a bunch of young people from around the world, who did their best to keep the guests entertained. Food at the buffet restaurant was adequate. Breakfast was the only really good meal. The specialty restaurants were a disaster - the one night we tried the Mexican one, all the guests ended up leaving without finishing the main course, as it was awful tasting. Pool towels were never available.
