Ibiscos Garden Hotel

We had a fantastic holiday in this lovely hotel. The staff were so welcoming and friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. The hotel is very clean and in a great location. 5 min walk to the beach, where there are watersports and plenty of shops, restaurants and bars all along the waterfront. 20 min walk to Old Town which is a lovely place to wander around. The most amazing sunsets can be enjoyed every evening. We stayed in a 1 bed apartment, which was perfect for a family of 4 , had everything we needed. and was cleaned daily. There are a number of outdoor pools which could be busy, but there is enough space for everyone and they have different opening times, so we were able to continue swimming when the main pool closed at 6:30pm. The buffet breakfast was fantastic! Plenty of choices including freshly made pancakes. We were B&B, so only ate in the restaurant one evening, but the a la carte menu was good and the food was delicious. We rented a car for a couple of days, so were able to explore a bit more of the island. Parking around the hotel is free and easy to find, either directly outside or nearby. We really did have a great holiday and want to say a special thank you to Spiros for all the lovely cocktails and to Stellios for his warm welcome and hospitality. Would definitely recommend this hotel!

We stayed here for a week in 2024 and liked it so much we came back for 2 weeks in 2025. Everyone has different standards and what they expect from a holiday. For us, this hotel has everything we need as a family. Yes, the rooms are basic but they are cleanned throughly and daily by the hardworking cleaners. Breakfast is good and varied, you can even squeeze your own fresh orange juice and make your own pancakes. Food is served by both pools for lunch and dinner, which was always delicious and fresh. There is a mini market on site that stocked many reasonably priced items. Every single member of staff we encountered were, Just Lovely, as the title mentions. Shout out to Stelios in the restaurant, Gregory on reception and the kindest staff in the mini market, who made my daughters day when they gave her a gift for her 16th birthday. The hotel is located a 5 minute walk from the beautiful Rethymnon beach that is laced with an abundance of restaurants and water sports. A 30-minute walk will take you to the historical old town and harbour, which is just beautiful. A taxi each way is 7 euros. The walk down to old town with the sun setting is a must! I would not hesitate to book this hotel again. The area and the hospitality of the staff would always bring us back - thank you Ibiscos. 😊

The cleanliness and comfort of this hotel was good. The staff are very friendly and helpful. There are four pools which accommodate all ages. If you wake up early you might even have time for some training before the pools get busy. Location is a 5 minute walk to the beach and the nearest mini market is on site. You can easily walk to Rethymno Center, but a taxi might be more comfortable in the heat. The WiFi worked fine. The restaurant offers a buffet dinner or a la cart. The buffet was good, but you might get bored of it after a week. Breakfast was really good. The sunbeds by the pool get reserved early, even though there are signs asking guests not to do so.
