Tried to visit the Ramona Valley Inn for 2 nights in early July for my wife’s birthday so we were close to the San Diego Safari Zoo and a few wineries. After checking in we went to our room, which was hidden in a corner of the property and entered only to be immediately greeted by about 15-20 flies hovering above the bed. We tried to convince ours it was ok and we’ll get rid them. We began to unload and went to the restroom to place our items but the restroom smelled so bad like either some had just used it or sewer. Again trying to convince ourselves that it was ok and we’ll make it work. Then we opened the blinds to try and begin getting rid of the flies but immediately outside our window was the neighbors garbage! Still- we wanted to make it work and changed for dinner. Upon leaving we realized we couldn’t do it as more flies continued to appear and noticed how dirty the rest of the rooms was. I went to the front desk to try and explain the situation and get a refund. The clerk said she could only refund the second night but not the first. I asked if there’s another room available and she said “no, we’re fully booked”, I said “ok so we’re supposed to stay in a dirty, fly infested room? Why can we get a refund then?” Then she didn’t say anything and proceed to mess with the credit card machine. Not saying anything, she processed a refund for the second night, handed me the receipt and said “here’s your refund for the second night, I can’t help you about the first”. ***! I said I want a refund and she just shrugged. We packed up and left. Absolutely disgusting accommodations & service! I’ve emailed and called trying to get a refund; and I’ve been able to find the owners emails. Non of which have responded even tho I use an email tracker and can see they’ve opened them, haha. The absolute worst. DO NOT STAY HERE.
