La Casa del Gelsomino

We chose this B&B for it's central location in Ragusa Ilba which is a 3 minute walk to the centre square. This is a unique 4 bedroom B&B with an outdoor jacuzzi and spa pool. Giovanna took great care of us every morning where an excellent breakfast is served looking out over the spectacular views over the valley. She also gave great advice and tips of where to go and what to see. Be prepared for plenty of walking and steps but well worth it. Hopefully we will get to return here. Amazing stay.

We stayed in 10 hotels/b&b’s during our time in Sicily and many were lovely but La Casa Del Gelsomino stood out from the crowd. The room & bathroom were nice sizes and very comfortable. We had a little balcony with 2 chairs and a table overlooking the garden & pool and city view. Breakfast was delicious with many homemade and local made treats. Giovanna goes out of her way to be helpful. The garden is lovely & relaxing. The pool an absolute delight.  We didn’t have time to use the hot tub. Easy walking from the B&B to anywhere. Highly recommend.  (Our GPS did not properly direct us to the property so I’ll include here that you need to drive on what looks like a pedestrian street through the main town square under a tunnel and follow the street around a curve one block up. It is really easy but didn’t seem so the first time we did it. )

An absolute gem I can’t recommend this enough. The garden, rooms, delivery delicious breakfast with lovely local produce and lovely host. The best place we stayed on our trip. Very central location and plenty of nearby parking (despite the very narrow roads).

Family run 4 room b&b. Giovanna, our caretaker watched over us with the kindest of care. She is your "Mother" in Ragusa. Every day she prepares a breakfast beyond words. She focuses on local foods and special treats every day with a different menu that includes, sweets, fruit, cheeses, breads, fresh baked ricotta, to die for, and then just when you think she has gone overboard, she presents a very special dessert of the local area. Cannoli with fresh ricotta, waffles with Nutella and pistachio sauce, I could go on and on. She really makes this hotel shine. Rooms are very clean, basic, minimal and modern looking. The very small downside is that there is little to no sound proofing, but noise is minimal as guests are very polite. Sheets and towels could be a bit better, but bed was comfortable. The icing on the cake is the yard and gardens accompanied by a lovely shallow garden jetted pool to lounge in overlooking the hillside. Comfortable porch furniture and sun loungers are next to the breakfast area and hit tub for cool evenings. We enjoyed our stay here so much and highly recommend. Thanks so Giovanna for making it so special. She works so hard for each person with a smile on her face and great suggestions for what to see in Ragusa. Great little town with a ton of churches and magnificent vistas.

Truly a fantastic place to stay. Giovanna and Carmela are incredibly helpful. The two-level garden is a gorgeous place to relax with a beautiful view. Breakfasts are delicious and huge. And the location is perfect, right near the Duomo. They even have Netflix in all the rooms.

We stayed 11 nights in Sicily and had 8 hotels around the island. This is what we enjoyed and loved most! The hotel is run by the sweetest and most hospitable donna! They have really thought us as guests to have absolutely everything to enjoy our time. The location couldn’t be any better either. There is a small cute pool with a beautiful little garden and gorgeous views, hammocks, jacuzzi, self service bar with wines, beer, aperol spriz and other refreshments. This was the only hotel with a big bottle of hair conditioner in shower, that I highly appreciated (not carrying many hair products with me). Also a high tec toilet seat 😄 The breakfast was the best as well 🤌 They provided a wonderful gluten free breakfast for me - the best during the whole vacation! As we checked out we got a small gift - a dried bouqet of oregano. We hope to visit this place again with my boyfriend, we absolutely loved it! The town of Ragusa has such a lovely and peaceful atmosphere. Local older gentlemen greeted us on the streets and there was mostly italian vacationers around. This town and it’s people really stole our hearts ❤️
