To start with, the actual grounds are enormous, which you don't really understand when looking at them on the internet. There is so much going on, especially for kids, that you seem to always find something else whilst walking around. We were given 3 ala carte restaurants to visit once during our visit. Italian, Fish & Oriental. Italian would say, Mmm, not very tasty at all, even though this was 6 courses. Fish I didn't go to, but the Oriental was fantastic. Grilled various meats, dips, flat breads, veg. all delicious, and the head chef was amazing. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner were all in the main restaurant. All I can say is its ok. Nothing really had a taste, but plenty to choose from. The chef outside was a bit of a pain, as you needed to keep walking in and out if you wanted anything from there. (breakfast: omelette or fried eggs; lunch: fried dishes; evening: same.). The rooms were ok; we had to move because of noisy neighbours, which wasn't a problem, and the section we moved to was quiet and clean. The whole hotel needs updating, as the rooms are tired and old-looking. The pools could really do with using solar energy as they were freezing (its January) but still 25*, and I love to swim but didnt get in to the pool. The barman at the pool bar was an absolute gem. Always had our drinks made and ready for when we came to the pool beds. And the towel guys too, always laying out our towels each day before we even arrived. Service from all the staff was really good; everyone is super friendly. We had a late check-out, so instead of 12, it was 6 p.m. This cost $40. Overall, would I go back? Probably not! But if you are looking for a cheap getaway AI in the sun in January, this is a great choice. We paid £350 for a week: hotel, flights, & transfers.
