Insotel Punta Prima Prestige Suites & Spa

A group of 10 of us stayed here for a week in May (8 adults and 2 two-year olds) and we were incredibly disappointed at this hotel. We read a few comments on trip advisor and as always took it with a pinch of salt, but wish we hadn’t! I’ve never once complained about a hotel, but I truly believe people need to save their money here and avoid! Top takeaways: - Do NOT book here if your LO has a food allergy - Only one part of the hotel in 5 star - we did not realise this. - Service and food is the worst I’ve ever experienced. Firstly, when we arrived it took over an hour just to check in with a member of staff. No queues, just to check in! We had two very tired little ones from a 3am start, who really needed a nap and it really shouldn’t have been this difficult. Whilst we were waiting, not once were we offered a drink, and once they finally managed to check us in we weren’t even offered staff help to take our luggage to where we were staying on-site. When we got to the room it was dated, basic but clean. One of the cots was also not there, even though we had previously requested one. Now for the fun part, our two year old suffers with a CMPA allergy and my husband with a severe peanut allergy. We made the hotel and TUI aware well in advance and were told it would not be a problem and we would be catered for. We arrived at the main restaurant to find no labelling on food items, and even some food items which were labelled weren’t what the dishes were! There were also bowls of peanuts dotted about by the food - mind baffling! We of course informed staff and asked to speak to the chef to see what was available and what we could actually eat. Staff were not helpful at all! We avoided 80% of the food options and had to play it as safe as we possibly could. The food was very poor and no ‘hot dishes’ were ever warm. When wondering around the hotel we also noticed that the ‘5 star part’ was completely separate from where we were staying and had a totally seperate restaurant. Not what was advertised at all! I’ve never experienced such unbothered/rude staff. Not even a ‘morning’ out of them and couldn’t care less if you had a problem. As someone who has stayed at many different hotels, and has experienced genuine 5 star hotels, I would honestly rate this a 3 star (at a push!). The only benefits were the pools and the kids park/waterslides. If you’re looking for good service, warm food, and 5 star treatment don’t book!

Lovely resort. We stayed in the premier resident with a private pool and the facilities were great. Staff incredibly friendly and efficient. There are a lot of families here but there’s about room to get away from the crowds and the resort is situated very conveniently near to Punta Primas small centre with shops, restaurants and bars

Very convenient location, close to the beach, to the waterfront with its shops and restaurants. Spacious and clean rooms with ample terraces, very quiet and nice pool, good quality buffet and amazing facilities (tennis courts, gym, SPA).
