Insotel Punta Prima Resort

We came here as a family of 5 a 3 year old, 6 year old, and a 10 year old. I am writing this while Sat is in reception about to leave. We came for 1 week and had the most fantastic time. The pools were great for all ages, and 2 were splash pools. One of these had 4 water slides. The other 2 we around pools with varying depths of water to suit all ages. The food was great for all ages, we thought the variety was good. All areas were well maintained and clean. Ice cream and lollies were self-serve everywhere. Rooms were a little dated but clean and functional. Nothing special but totally fine. The entertainment was fantastic, some the best we have seen, including on many cruises. And the resident staff we fab. All the staff we were very pleasant and couldn't do enough. WiFi was amazing for everything, including streaming flims, we took a fire stick, and it worked flawlessly. Drinks were branded and had no restrictions. In fact, many were self-service, including wine, beer, and soft drinks.

Just come back from a weeks holiday at the hotel. Can honestly say that we had a great stay. The food was good in all of the main restaurants. The grill by the main pool was excellent and worth booking for an evening meal. Daytime is not bookings and the food is great. The Italian by the splash park was ok for pizza but the pasta was rubbish and served cold. Great views. The staff were fantastic and could not do enough for you. The room was good with plenty of space. Super comfy bed. Lots of nice restaurants locally if you fancy a change. Drinks in all the bars are premium spirits with generous servings.

I do not normally write reviews, however, I feel inclined as I’d hate for anybody else to spend/waste money on this hotel. We arrived on the 18th September. We were extremely worried about arriving due to multiple reports of hand foot and mouth cases on the hotel Facebook page. We were particularly worried due to having a 5 month old baby. However, appreciate this is not the hotels fault but they could have managed it more appropriately. We arrived at around 12pm, luckily our room was ready. Large complex, nice surroundings/garden areas well tended to. Steep hills and probably not appropriate for disabled people. It was a struggle with the pram. Rooms were extremely dated and basic. We were in a ground floor apartment and the noise from next door and above apartment was ridiculous . Paper thin walls and every footstep, conversation and bangs heard at all hours. The apartments had maid service daily. However, during our 11 day stay the bedding was changed only once. Towels changed daily. Floors and bathroom extremely dirty, hairs around bath and grime in between tiles. Strong smell of urine around toilet area. Initially had a drying rack outside which was taken the evening we arrived. Requested a replacement four times and took days to arrive. Two large bottles of water provided in room on arrival, however, never replenished. Almost seemed impossible to get a bottle of water in the hotel. Only plastic glasses of warm water served around the pool/bar areas. Ended up buying multiple bottles for the room. Glass water bottles provided in the dining room but not allowed to take back to room. Internet/wifi did not work, had to ask reception to fix this which they did after a few hours. Our son’s shoes were stolen from outside the front of the apartment on the first night. Advised that other guests had items stolen also. The food was ok, always plenty of choice for our family of 5. Very poorly labelled and allergy advice very unclear. Due to having a severe allergy, spoke with chef who briefly showed me what was safe to eat, however, this was rushed and he did not seem sure. I stuck to basics as I was worried. The food hall/buffet was like a cattle market. It was so unbelievably busy with huge queues. The staff are overrun in the buffet restaurant. They would also often take your plate before you’d finished your meal. Did not enjoy the restaurants that were included. We went to il faro which was poor and the same with aire. We did not end up returning to the other restaurants which we had booked due to this. One of our party also felt unwell following the meal at aire (he had the calamari which tasted off). The pool areas looked nice at first glance, however, they were extremely dirty. Plastic glasses left scattered and not regularly cleaned. Sticky patches everywhere where drinks has been spilled and not cleaned up. We were often up early with our baby so would walk around the complex. We would see staff members lightly spraying the floor

We stayed for a week all inclusive as 3 adults and 2 children (aged 8 and 2). Overall, the hotel is beautiful. 3 different pool areas, lots for kids. But not 5*. And the food seriously let this place down more than anything. Positives: - Housekeeping amazing - whole place very clean and very accommodating of extra bedding changes when needed for kids, they worked around the clock in communal areas too to keep everything nice and clean - Parks and pools good for kids - Generous with drinks, you ask for a glass of wine - you get a bottle - Ice creams in freezers dotted throughout resort and easily accessible throughout day - All staff very friendly and helpful Negatives - Evening food not til 6.30pm which is quite late for young children - Kids mini disco doesn’t start til 8pm - again, very late and underwhelming - “Late breakfast” is not actually late breakfast, just snacks like hot dogs and chips - Il Faro (the Italian a la carte) was a big letdown - slow service, food not as described on menu, generally underwhelming and poor quality - however we were lucky to even get a reservation, as spaces are extremely limited and heard lots of people saying they weren’t able to get a table at all during their stay - Buffet restaurant - massive queues, manic rushing for the first hour of service, staff very slow at refilling food so lots of empty trays, one evening they served RAW gnocchi, lack of labels on food so for anyone with allergies or intolerances - its a nightmare! Food is also all lukewarm at best unless it’s freshly fried chips or meat/fish. - Rooms are interconnecting which means you can hear everything your neighbours are doing next door and upstairs (I assume because of the connected air-con vents.) - the “app” information for the hotel is not accurate - it stated the resort shop was open everyday, but it’s closed on Sundays (not that this was a problem in general, but if you walk all the way to the top of the hill to find it closed, it’s very annoying) Tips - If you’ve got young kids who drink milk before bed- ask in the restaurant for milk at dinner time, they will give you a big 1.5L bottle to take back to your room - perfect for night time bottle refills - Resort is on a steep incline, if you have very small children, take a pushchair or hire one

Good points: This resort is a lovely resort, it’s has 3 pools and 2 baby pools which are seperate. Bottled beer and soft drinks, promptly served in the restaurants. Shop on sight, lots of places to eat. Loads of sunbeds By the beach Bad points: Not great entertainment, not sure if it was the time of year that we went but was very poor. They did a show every night which was okay but for a 5 star hotel I thought it was bog standard. The food was awful!!! It gave both me and my partner sickness and 💩💩 and spoke to other families and it did the same to them. Not much to do for kids unless they go into the kids club. Pools are freezing, even baby pools. Rooms are very dated and adjoin to the next room so you can hear everything. Also people above who you can hear.

Here at the moment and whilst the premises are lovely, I cannot say the same for the food, or should I say lack of it! Every night is the same, empty trays, I’ve seen the sign for pizza but have yet to see any! Tonight I’ve had a corn on the cob and some chips as that was all I could find. Awful, it’s letting the place down so badly and I would never come back. Please save your hard earned money for a resort that will actually feed you! Never again I’m afraid.
