Hotel Jose Antonio Puno

Lovely hotel with lovely staff! A little dated but couldn’t fault the rooms, had everything you’d need, the breakfast was excellent and lots of choice! We stayed for 2 nights as part of a tour and enjoyed our time here. It is situated on the edge of Lake Titicaca and very isolated, no shops or bars anywhere near! Taxis needed to get into Puno (about 20 sol) and took about 10 - 15 minutes!

We chose Hotel Jose Antonio as we were a bit skeptical about staying in Puno town. And we couldn’t have been happier! The location is perfect, just 10 mins from the main town but totally peaceful and with amazing view and access to the stunning lake right in front. The rooms are very spacious, comfortable and the views are insane! All the staff were super lovely, particularly Dania who attended us each meal and looked after us at any request. Would definitely come back!

The hotel is on the main road to Bolivia south of Puno rather isolated overlooking the lake. I would say this hotel was built in the 70’s, the room was a good size, overlooking the lake. But it was a bit dated. The air conditioning didn’t work, so I was supplied a fan. The staff were very helpful and my room was pretty quiet, apart from the odd noise of traffic on occasion it was comfortable. The food was excellent, I probably would stay here again. More of a 3.5 stars.

Very nice hotel with good service and food. Staff all very helpful and spoke English well. Many thanks for a pleasant short stay whilst on tour of Peru. Visiting from England. Location is out of town and has a busy road at front but has a good view of Puno and part of Lake Titicaca.

Wonderful staff, especially Brayan in the restaurant. Far away from town but great Lake Titicaca views and big spacious rooms with comfortable bed. The whole place could do with a little updating and tlc, but not inususl for 4 star hotels in Peru so far I have experienced

The hotel is fantastic, we weren’t sure whether to stay in the town or further out on the lake and are very glad we stayed here it’s a 20 sol taxi into town and for what you get that £4 taxi is so worth it! The place is beautiful, with great views of the lake. The place is amazingly well kept and still feels new, the rooms are big and the beds are seriously comfy. But to top everything off the staff are amazing! Leonardo at the bar couldn’t be better - the bar had closed so I raided our mini fridge and he swapped the beers for cold ones and got me an ice bucket to make sure they were perfect, and that’s only one example of him going out of his way to make our stay so good! Juan also made us feel so at home and he’s a diamond! They care in every way and I really think this place delivers, especially for the price!
