Zostel Plus Lonavala

This is a new property and while it is propagated as a luxury property by Zostel it fails on both counts..neither does it have the Zostel flavor nor is it luxury. The concept of Zostel is focussed on Solo and Backpacker travellers. This property is expensive. They have very few dorms. Their focus is primarily on the villas and cottages. The food items are exorbitantly priced and they do not have the concept of half plate. So as a solo traveler be prepared to shell out at least INR 400 per meal and waste a lot of food that you can't consume. There are no activities and the property being in the middle of nowhere, one can only get bored unless you have come with a purpose to work here or study. Wifi works well but no phone network. However there is a significant number of power failures when the wifi also goes off. No board games available. Common room made of glass is scorchingly hot to spend any time there. For a luxury property they have absolutely untrained staff. I was having my lunch in the room when 4 staff members came in to fix the TV. They were absolutely inconsiderate that the guest was having lunch. During the afternoon the reception sent someone who woke me up by banging on the door to collect the AC remote which they wanted to check. They replaced a working remote with a non working one. The cottages are expected to be private but the staff would jump into the backyard of the cottage anytime..so do not try the jacuzzi as any peeping tom can arrive anytime. The housekeeping staff provides one towel at a time. No bath towels or bath robes were provided in the room as shown in the pictures. I had to ask and follow up for everything. The restaurant staff brought in food without cutlery and I had to walk all the way from my room to the cafeteria just to get the cutlery. The food tastes below average and it's a misery to eat it at the price paid. It is constructed well but due to the mismanagement and untrained staff, except the view from the cottage, there is nothing worth spending your time and money on this property.

We (5 friends) stayed at their cottage B-09 for 1 night and had a mixed experience. Though the location and the property is amazing, the food and service was extremely disappointing. Right from the moment we checked-in, there were basic amenities missing and we had to ask for extra towels, extra dental kits, etc. even though we had advanced booked for 5 pax and one month prior. Room service was pathetic (again I had to ask for extra plates and cutlery), the quality of food was not great and lacked basic tastes and flavors. Wifi is extremely poor / non-existent in most places. The only positive was the room ambience. Well furnished and highly spacious with all the modern amenities including a jacuzzi (not all rooms have this, we booked their most premium category which had a great mountain-lake view). The restaurant experience was slightly better, thanks to Rasik who was trying his best to meet basic customer expectations with a staff that was under-trained and over stretched. Also, everything is exorbitantly priced (even an ice bucket will cost you Rs. 100). Hoping the management looks to adopt a customer-centric approach which will ensure repeat business and does due justice to a place that can become one of the best holiday destinations in Lonavala.

Hi Guys!! Zostel Plus Lonavala is a very cool property. The location is the main USP because you can just walk down to the Pawna lake in 2 Mins and feel that cool water of the Lake. I stayed in the female Dorm with shared Bathroom. The Dorm was Super Clean and so was the bathroom. The beds were soo comfy and cushy. It felt like a small cabin you wouldn't want to leave. The Garage Bistro and Café is the eating area, the food is decent but the DRINKS are Super Expensive. So I would prefer to carry my own liquor the next time. There a Glass Room, which is a cool place to chill, play games like TT, Jenga, chess, Board games etc. The property also has a swimming pool which was surprising very clean and organized. It felt like a swimming area of a 5-Star resort. The staff, well the staff wasn't very trained and friendly. When I checked in, the person on the counter didn't even felt like inviting me with a smile. So yea, there's some scope of improvement. The Zostel organizes Boating during the Evening, it costs Rs 500 for around 45 minutes ride, which is also way too much. Apart from that they don't have any other activity. The WIFI is very slow, so if vou're visiting for WFH, you should reconsider. So all in all, I would give 3.5 to my Zostel plus Lonavala Experience. @officialyashmita for more pictures

A place in the heart of pawana.... absolutely mesmerizing, with a view that will stay with you even after you are back to the hustle of city.... The hospitality is very warm...do look out for Lala, the manager of the property.. extremely warm, welcoming and ensures you have everything that will make your trip a surreal experience .... The food and music keeps you upbeat...

Pros: Zostel Plus Lonavala is such a beautiful place to explore atleast once in life. The place, vibes, ambience, people are really amazing. Every corner is artistically created. Kodus to them. Cons: The property is 15-16 kms away from the main city. Food and liquor is over priced, you can't get it from outside. So they take undue advantage of it. We ordered a Grilled sandwich, what we got was a grilled bread stuffed with cheese, there was no stuffing on it. They changed the whole meaning of a grilled sandwich 😂. What's more hilarious is even Taj Hotel also doesn't charge so high for such pathetic stuff. Now let's talk about the WORST EXPERIENCE: The manager Varun (Lala) is just Bol Bachchan, just comes and asks All good, but doesn't help if you really need it. Let me specifically mention about WAITER AMAN, he is always HIGH with Alocohol, ****. WAITER AMAN'S behavior was EXTREMELY RUDE, doesn't know how to talk to the customers. We were sitting in our dorms with friends and there was one female friend with us, WAITER AMAN was completely drunk and had lost all his senses. He just barged into our dorm and inappropriately started misbehaving . Somehow, we managed to kick his ass out of our dorm. Conclusion: Superb Property, Food over priced, Staff very rude (especially WAITER AMAN).
