Tambopata Hostel

Lovely reception, limited engl8sh, which is expected but very thoughtful staff. Room is badic but all we need for our stay. It was clean and tidy, fan to help with the humidity. I would recommend requesting an air-conditioning room. Pool is clean and welcoming. Would recommend staying here for a base, breakfast is included, it is basic but that is all you need. Nice welcome and I feel safe which is the main thing g when travelling.

Nice hotel, comfortable and friendly. Nice pool which is accessible but ladder to get in and out. Nice and peaceful. My room was large with bathroom and shower room. Continental breakfast included which was nice. Good variety of breads, fruit and cereals. Staff were polite and spoke basic English but the welcome was nice. The hotel sells drinks but no food, there is no bar. There are a few shops / stalls just outside which offer foid, drinks and snacks. My room had netted windows and netted canopies over the beds but I had no issues with insects etc. TukTuk from the airport to the hotel cost 20sole. I slept very well and woke to the sound of Wildlife, it was amazing. Points to note: Watch out for the ants, purchase insect repellant, the shower is cold, no hot water so grit your teeth and jump in! The view from the roof of the hotel is amazing! Don't expect glamour, this is a deprived city compared to western cities. Here, they build with what they have and what they can use but it is all part of thier culture and means. I would recommend this hotel from my visit. Parents with young children just need to be aware of a steep drop from one area (photo attached) as there is no fencing, only a steep drop. The animal noises are lovely to hear and very relaxing.
