Sol Lanzarote All Inclusive

Just returned from a week long trip with my husband. When we arrived we arrived at about 2.30pm we where told to leave our bags behind reception and go and get some lunch. We had already eaten so just went to the bar for a drink. We paid extra at the hotel to upgrade to a sea view room €210 euros which was considerably cheaper than upgrading with Jet2. When we returned to reception we were given a map and our room cards and sent on our way. I had to return a while later as I realised we hadn't been given back our passports. I asked if we could have a late checkout on day of departure at this point because our flight wasn't until 10pm and was told that we would be put on a list and to come back the day before or day of departure. It would be €60 euros until 6pm. Our room was spacious, with sofa bed in one half of the room with microwave and kettle/cups (you have to provide your own refreshments, I took sachets that I already had at home) two single beds together in the main part of the room which I didn't have a problem with but my husband would have preferred a double bed. Beautiful view from our room of the pool and sea. I love lying in the room listening to the waves lap on the sand. Definitely glad I upgraded. Plenty of storage space and a free to use safe in the wardrobe. There was a table next to the sofabed which was really wobbly. I left a note for the maid (translated on Google translate) and when we came back that day it had been fixed/replaced. We did have a small issue with ants crawling all over the microwave but we squished them and they didn't seem to be anymore. I found the food great always plenty of choice. Lots of fresh fruit and veg the desserts where particularly better than most other all inclusives I've stayed at. The snack bar was great too you get to just go in and help yourself. Also love the self-serve bars of coffee, beer, wine, sangria and fizzy pop. Never any qué to get a drink! Only annoying thing was when the restaurant shuts at 930pm that's it for food. I like a snack of an evening especially after a drink so it would have been good if you could get some crisps or something later on. We ended up having to go to the spar down the road for snacks. 3 pools and only one of them is heated, this is the one where they do all the activities and it's quite shallow so only really suitable for kids. The other 2 pools are FREEZING I love swimming and normally I'd be in the pool every day on holiday but I managed the pool twice in the 7 days we where there for about 10 mins. I think the sea was warmer than the pools! The beach is right across the road from the hotel, nice sandy beach and a walk and cycle path all along the front. We walked down to the airport to watch the planes come in one day and in the other direction there are lots of shops and bars. The daytime and nighttime entertainment was abit hit and miss. The entertainer's speak all the languages but I think they did struggle to get people to join in. We went to

We had a lovely stay at this hotel. It was a last-minute getaway for some winter sun. We are a family of four with two young children, aged 6 and 4. Positives; - great location next to a beautiful beach, and with shops and restaurants nearby - great food - lots of choice at every meal (however, I am vegetarian, and there wasn't always a hot veggie option at every mealtime. I was happy to have salad's though) - great use of reusable cups and water stations so that plastic bottles and disposable cups are not used. Bring your own drinking bottles so that you can refill them easily for your room and for around the pool - great for the planet! - large, spacious rooms - great activities - I loved the stretching and dance classes, and our children loved some of the children's activities and the mini discos - lovely outdoor bar area and snack bar overlooking the sea - very clean - lovely, friendly, hardworking staff - one heated pool - lovely children's play area Could be improved; - mealtimes could be quite chaotic, and depending on what time you arrived, could be hard to find a table straight away (mostly in the evening) - busy pool area with not enough sun loungers (however, I don't think more could actually fit). The problem is when hotel guests leave their towels and belongings on sun loungers and then disappear off for hours. This needs monitoring by staff where towels and belongings are removed if left for too long. It's quite selfish of hotel guests. Some days we couldn't find any loungers at all for my partner and I. Most loungers had belongings on them before we went for breakfast! It's a shame as it made the pool area quite stressful rather than relaxing. We ended up going for walks to the beach instead - the hotel is a little dated but with some updates could be lovely - many of the tables at the restaurant were wobbly. Overall we had a lovely little break away for some winter sunshine.

I returned yesterday from a last minute 5day trip with my mother. We went away to relieve stress, complete my assignments in peace and relax before my mother's spinal surgery next week. Unfortunately, the stress only got worse. I don't want to say the holiday was all negative. We did have a brilliant time meeting other guests and having a laugh. Staff were also very friendly. Unfortunately, I would not say the hotel is a 4star but more of a 3star. It was quite a basic hotel. Entrance was pretty but there's alot of updating that needs to be carried out. We paid for a superior sea view room. Cannot complain about the view although the rooms needed freshening up. They were very spacious though. I was disappointed that the hotel does not provide coffee in the rooms, this would have been a great touch. The poolside was nice, there was no arguing over sun loungers but the pools were absolutely freezing even though one was supposedly heated. It was a shame for families with children as they couldn't go into the pool. The beach was just outside a gate and across a path. Very beautiful too. The food was disappointing. Very repetitive and I do feel there wasn't much to choose from. It was also cold! There were microwaves to heat food up but this should not be expected. Food should be served hot. Staff were very quick to help clear tables and take away any used plates though. Let's talk about stress. I was in my room carrying out work for my assignment while propped up in bed. All of a sudden, part of the wall crashed down and hit me. Pictures do not do it justice, it was heavy! The corner of this heavy piece of wood smashed into my arm and laptop. The screen is completely smashed and slightly bent. As you can imagine I was angry, shocked and upset. Luckily, I was not sleeping as my head would have been in the same place my laptop was. Without sounding dramatic, I would have received some serious head injury if not worse. You do not expect to have health and safety issues like this when being on holiday. The manager was apologetic but I do feel it was brushed underneath the carpet. I was offered a massage for my troubles which I felt it was insulting. The jet2 rep was amazing and I could not fault her. She argued for me to have a laptop to continue my work which was finally agreed upon. This however did not happen as they could not source one for me. I was not asked once how I was even considering the wood hit me. I was upset and could barely sleep with fear it was going to happen again. I'm surprised there was no investigation as to how it happened, but rather it was 'quickly fixed'. I felt as though the hotel could not wait for us to leave so they did not have to deal with us any longer. Unfortunately, will not be returning and feel I need a holiday to recover from the stress this holiday caused.

Our first visit to this hotel , first impressions very good , hotel is in a fabulous location, and Matthew on reception was very helpful. Our room was quite a trek to find but was spacious , spotless and our balcony was completely covered by a big tree ! I had paid for a superior sea view room and this was barely a sea view unless you climbed out the balcony and climbed the tree !! I’m usually reluctant to complain but next morning I went to find the jet 2 rep . Within a short time we were taken to see another room , which we accepted . Truthfully I do not think this was a superior sea view room either but it did have a sea view although above the entertainment bar , not a problem for us noise wise , we were happy to have a balcony with a view at last . The hotel is spotlessly clean , the staff work very hard and are lovely , the animation team were great , we loved sitting in the snack bar area people watching . The food to me was a little repetitive but my husband loved the sea food and regularly ate his body weight in sea food ! We mostly had a snack at lunchtime rather than the restaurant. Plenty of choice for everyone . We didn’t indulge in the sunbed lunacy , but towels were down at crazy o clock ! I paid for a sunbed on the beach a couple of times , great value at €10.50 for two beds and a brolly and peaceful . The entertainment was a bit hit or a miss , two nights in a row with acrobats and a singer one night who was so loud my ears were ringing ! Cocktails and drinks weren’t bad , we usually ended up with a few on our balcony at night . Overall we had a really lovely 10 days in the sun , we would definitely come back but probably not peak season .

First impression was great. Lovely reception area and greeted with a smile. Checked in late around 10 30. The staff put out plates of food for people who checked in late. Location is fabulous for anyone on a family holiday. Kids club and activities for the adults were great. The staff made the holiday. Their work rate and willingness to please was excellent. Few things could be tidied up. Place is a little bit old but it is well maintained. Cocktails aren't great. Pool could be a little warmer. But again the staff were excellent. Our 3 year was in awe of a few of them because of how they treated her. They made the holiday for us Would definitely recommend.

Really not bad... Food ok but always sort of the same. Very clean. Drinks good.. Only problem for me, just far to many children running about.... My fault should of went adults only... Walk across the road to the beach. Have to get a taxi if you want a better restaurant
