We’ve just done 10 days here.. Firstly when I booked this holiday I never realised it was North Side till it was too late to change, we weren’t that bothered but we did do some research prior. I did read reviews before we came, I obviously had doubts upon my arrival. ROOM: Upon arriving we were very impressed, reception was beautiful. Unfortunately our room was not. Key card holder was faulty, we were told to put it in at an angle, this worked but is only a short term solution. Air Con didn’t work, we were given a fan which just blowed warm heat around which wasn’t ideal seeing as I had paid for air conditioning. The room looked as though it had been refurbed but it hadn’t, newish floor and white paint that’s about it. Bathrooms old, cracked tiles. Stains on the wall in the bedroom. Must be people living in the hotel which we were t aware of at the time of booking. Our bed was changed twice in 10 days, housekeeping just flipped the sheets/duvet over. We know this as we smudged a bit of chocolate on one of the sheet covers by accident, I had to fully strip the whole bed for them to acknowledge our beds needed changing. We were given no clean towels or toilet roll, we had to keep asking reception. One cleaning lady was so lovely and helpful, some did not even speak. FOOD: As expected it was basic and very repetitive, my partner is very fussy so she just ate chips, pasta and bread, it was quite boring everything was bland. I ended up being ill for 3 days and refused to eat in the restaurant after that, I could not stomach the smell of the place. There were flys all over the fresh salad, fruit and desserts. Breakfast was okay if you like cold scrambled eggs and beans. The food hall was very clean and staff kept on top of that, food was regularly replenished. DRINKS Drinks were okay, you had to ‘rent’ a cup for 1 euro, you get your money back once you had them back in though. Spirits were weak. Not alot of choice really. Overall okay as I don’t particularly drink a lot of alcohol so the pop was ideal for us. Coffee and tea was also available. Wasn’t impressed that the bar shut at 11pm especially on a weekend or after some decent entertainment. Some bar staff were rude. ENTERTAINMENT: Some nights were good, some nights the staff had no clue what to do so would play a guessing game of their ages or how many pages in a book to win a bottle of Prosecco. I get that it’s coming in to off season so can’t grovel.. One of the entertainers throughout the day was lovely, I can’t remember his name he was tall, fit and had curly hair. Very friendly and chatty! There were plenty of shops around, not much really to do. Only a 15 minute walk into the main centre or 5 euros in a taxi. Loro Parque was the best thing about this holiday! Free train ride from the town centre near the beach, bright yellow train can’t miss it. i will not be coming back, I was ill from the food, did not eat for the rest of the 5 days we had left there. It got to a point it
