JS Portocolom Suites

Just returned after a fabulose break at js portcolme from first meet at reception with Paula and Marie so helpful smiling funny we had an upgrade was amazing apartment very clean cleaned most days fresh towels everyday pool spa well looked after we had half board would recommend never went Hungary staff we met were lovely only exception man on door off restaurant in night not approachable very abrupt embarrassed us by demanding payment and not adding to my bill then didn't pay off our bill so had to go through what happened again wouldn't even look at us no apology shower in our room flooded each time we dealt with used shower room once checked out this also flooded girl on reception at time not bothered didn't help in saying that we would return easy to get around beach harbour buses all at hand bars restaurants within walking distance big shout out to Paula and Marie fabulose xx

Stayed here before in 2023. Positives remain the professional and quality of most* staff. Rooms very bright spacious and clean, brilliant housekeeping staff. Food quality in our opinion has diminished somewhat, hard to go through each dish but generally the quality not quite there as our last visit. I had a slight stomach upset after the Pork cheek disk..The coffee and tea machines are really, really bad quality and regularly break down. The main reason for our decision not to return would be the restaurant manager ( a rotund bald bespectacled gentleman) on numerous occasions we noted him reprimanding his staff in full view of hotel guests. When entering the restaurant he would tell people where to sit, I challenged him on one occasion and you could tell he was not used to being told NO by a grown male adult. Lovely clean pool again with friendly bar staff. The addition of the gym is a great one but the no under 16 rule is not policed so it becomes a free for all. On last visit the percentage of German/ English tourists was 70/30 but on our stay we only heard one other English family, obviously not an issue but on this occasion we found our fellow European travellers to be less interactive and communicating than last time, another side effect of Brexit perhaps? Will we back? no, but that should not stop other guests from coming. Like everything in life and travel if you can this stay at a good rate then I would cautiously recommend the JS Porto colom suites.

Going as a family of 5, 2 adults and 3 teenagers, we required 2 rooms. I emailed the hotel before we left to ask for 2 rooms next to each other. They email back promptly saying they will try to accommodate but can't guarantee it. On arrival we were greeted by the friendly reception staff and were pleased that they gave us to rooms adjacent to each other on the 1st floor. Rooms. We over looked the square at the front of the hotel which was a little daunting to start with as we were virtually level with it so people could look straight in to our room/balcony. However, this turned out to be a bonus as in the evening we could sit on the large balcony and enjoy the different entertainment they had on occasionally in the square. This worked perfect for us but these rooms may not be so good with younger kids as some nights were quite loud until early morning. The rooms were really clean, spacious and they were cleaned , with new towels and sheets daily if required. The cleaner was brilliant. The shower was also great. Food. We were half board and had no problems with the restaurant. There was always tables available with the staff working extremely hard, cleaning, replenishing food and serving the customers. We really enjoyed the food with plenty of options for breakfast and dinner. I had no complaints from my 3 boys so it must of been good. The kebab night went down well. Pool. Loved the pool area, always sunbeds available which can sometimes be difficult with 5 of us. It was clean and tidy . Just the right size for the hotel . We went in the spa area once which was really nice but was hoping for a heated swimming pool inside but it felt colder than the outside one. Again the pool /bar staff were superb and always friendly . Entertainment. Didn't see to much in the day which we weren't to bothered about as we were not looking for it . There was kids entertainment at night from half 8 then a little show or bingo/music quiz at 9-10pm. All the kids seemed to be enjoying themselves and we felt chilled with a few nice cocktails. Location. The whole of potocolom was pretty quite so if you are looking for a livley holiday with loads of entertainment, there are better places. But if you are looking to relax with a bit of nightlife and some nice restaurants then this is ideally situated. The walks along the harbour is beautiful. The short walk to the beach is more than worth it with it's picturesque views, the white sand and lovley clear water. We had an amazing holiday and would go here again.

My husband and I spent 7 nights here along with our 2 year old and four year old daughters.. We were expecting a suite with a separate bedroom and living area. The hotel website definitely indicates this is what the rooms offer. The photographs show a bedroom with doors separating it with the living room. We didn’t have this and it was really important to us. Not a problem though as we were kindly moved which definitely made our holiday a much more enjoyable experience. I’m just pointing it out so others are aware. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The pool area was great for our children. It starts off really shallow which was great for my 2 year old to splash about it. Inflatables were welcome which was great! The kids really enjoyed the splash park area too. There was always plenty sunbeds despite it being a busy time of year. The pool bar was good. The cocktails, food and the staff were all fab. We spent everyday at the pool. We stayed half-board. The food isn’t anything spectacular but I didn’t expect it to be. There was always a good selection though. It would be nice to change up the kids options a bit. Breakfast was pretty much the same everyday. It would be helpful if the foods were labelled better for vegetarians and allergies. We ate out a couple of times. There is a few places on the square directly outside the hotel to enjoy. The lady who does the entertainment was great. My kids loved the mini disco and my 4 year old thorougly enjoyed the kids club. The mini disco and evening entertainment is at the pool bar area right beside the play park. I was a big fan of this set up. The pool is partitioned off and the kids had great fun in the play park before the mini disco whilst we enjoyed one of the fabulous cocktails from the pool bar. One negative was that I found the room to be awfully noisy. Noise from the square outside, noise from the roads, neighbouring rooms and it seemed like I could hear every room in the hotel flush their toilet! But that can’t be helped I suppose. I would pack ear plugs next time. My children didn’t seem to mind which is what matters to me. Our rooms were also very bright in the morning. Black out curtains would be a welcome addition. a lot of effort is put in from the staff at this hotel and we enjoyed our stay 🙂 we would like to return to this hotel in the future.

Rooms were very basic.No tea/coffee. Food was tasteless,after four days ate outside.Staff in dining room need training. Everywhere was spotless. One lifeguard who spent his time on his phone! Underage children in spa on equipment. Would I return? No

I came to stay with my mum and the service we received from staff was fabulous. Especially Dani and Jose. The Pilates and evening entertainment was great with such high energy. The food was delicious. Each morning you could get a freshly made omelette and lots of meats/cheese/pastries. Dinners would change from paella, sushi, noodles and each time really good quality. There were plenty of sun loungers and the pool was really relaxing. The area was close to some stunning beaches with crystal clear waters. Overall we had such a fabulous time we would definitely come again.
