La Fattoria di Morgana

We have spent 5 truly memorable days at the Fattoria di Morgana. It is very hard to put in words our stay. As the name is hinting it is a bit of a fairy tale where the animal of the farms (the list is really long from several species of pigs, ducks, geese, chickens, cats, hares, horses, dogs and all sort of puppies) all eating and living together in a sort of happy ending that never stops. Farm animals are not killed but given the chance to live a wonderful life and be part of an echo system where the boundaries between species is almost non existent and where there is a truce between prays and predators… Simon and Claudia and their amazing team of children are perfect hosts, opening the doors of their house and offering anything one would get from a 5 star hotel but delivered in a simple & genuine way… While it is a simple farm, once you adjust to the new lifestyle (it took our 3 little girls 5minutes!) It is hard to go back and the often invisible fairy Morgana, (Claudia) has produced some of the best meal we ever had with genuine food from the farm all prepared fresh for the evening… One important note is that the farm is their home so their shared their life with us. The rules are simple rules of every family and require the guests a very small effort to blend in and appreciate the wonders on offer. The fattoria is located in the heart of Parco Nazionale di Abbruzzo a wonderful place surrounded by wild life such as Bears, Deers and Wolves, so for the Nature lovers this is a must!

Posto immerso nella natura un vero ranch! Cena di buona qualità, con prezzo a pattuito 35€ ad adulto, antipasto, carne, vino ed acqua. La prima pecca dopo aver accordato i bambini “al consumo” è stato aver far pagare prezzo pieno “35 a testa” ai 2 bimbi di 9 e 8 anni, seduti ad un tavolo a parte, che hanno bevuto acqua, mangiato un hamburger al piatto e qualche arrosticino, forse colpevoli di aver asportato qualche altro arrosticino direttamente dal tavolo dei grandi? Il prezzo degli adulti era stato accordato bevande incluse… chi non bevuto vino ha pagato a parte 2 simil Coca Cola dell’Eurospin 2€ cadauna. In ultimo ma non per ultimo prima della cena ci era stato proposto un giro della “fattoria” al costo di 20€ a famiglia, in realtà si è rilevato un giro del fabbricato chiacchierando con il figlio del titolare… quello che in genere rientra nell’accoglienza base è stato venduto con un evento straordinario. Viaggiando molto ed in ogni dove, quanto pagato per i bimbi e la chiacchierata “didattica” non la ritengo assolutamente corrette, siamo turisti e non abbiamo l’anello al naso…

Pranzo di sabato 2 novembre dopo escursione a Forca d'acero. Giornata spettacolare sole caldo e cielo terso. La fattoria è una casa accogliente abitata da tanti animali oche galline maiali cani pastore maremmano dolcissimi cavalli un paio di gatti centenari. Oltre naturalmente ai proprietari 😀. Una chef dai superpoteri tra cui l invisibilità e il marito simpatico anfitrione, molto accogliente. Abbiamo mangiato benissimo: gnocchi buonissimi dolce e antipasti tutto semplice e fatto in casa con materie prime ottime. Il posto è molto rilassante con una vista spettacolare . Il quid in piu lo danno gli animali e il clima che si respira di grande familiarità un po' rustica ma di livello. Restate così. Torneremo a trovarvi e speriamo di poter venire spesso in un futuro non lontano . 😉
