Mandali Hotel

Chose this hotel for the location been to Protaras plenty of times beach is to the left of the hotel when coming out of reception to the right is the main strip Upon checkin the receptionist was friendly and helpful offered us 2 rooms one on the ground floor which was much bigger but no view on the balcony and then a smaller room on the 4th floor which we opted the room itself was small but it did us bed was comfy bathroom was a good size and lovely hot shower with good pressure they do have shower gel and hand wash as amenities but that about it the air con wasn’t as good as I would have liked it but it was fine there is a safe but for some odd reason it kept saying error when I tried to use it so didn’t bother plenty of hangers in wardrobe and extra pillow the bed was very comfy and so were the pillows the swimming pool wasn’t a huge size the sun loungers could do with updating and they dipped in the middle the sun does go over the pool so u want to sit where the baby pool is and restaurant if u want sun all day the breakfast was ok but does get busy as the morning goes on I got ill from eating the boiled eggs but they do lots of different things they gave a live cooking station for omelettes and pancakes they have an indoor pool aswell which seemed a shame as not really used the staff worked very hard to keep it clean and tidy and very friendly lots to do in Protaras bus stop on the main strip 102 to Aya Napa and 101 back to Protaras overall the hotel was above average could do with some improvements but nothing major they do have 2 lifts but are very slow and only allowed 4 ppl in it so u could be waiting for a while

Lovely hotel right beside beach and nightlife. Very clean hotel rooms cleaned daily, food nice and staff lovely. We loved the beach so spent most days there, I would definitely go back to this hotel we had a see view but the room only got the sun in the morning until 10 am so wouldn’t pay the extra for that room even though it was nice hope this helps everyone

My honest review, the he room we had was nice, we paid extra for the seafront view but it only gets the sun until 10.30 am so would not pay the extra cost, the room are very nice and cleaned every day. The all inclusive I wish I had not paid for as the food for all inclusive is not the best and we only ate there for one day, but if you pay for the food from the hotel menu it seems a lot better so for that I give all inclusive a 1. The staff do help when you ask but don’t think they’ll be asking you if you want anything, overall it’s a nice clean hotel, would I stay again probably yes but definitely not all inclusive hope this helps

A very friendly family-run hotel in a great location at the quieter, northern end, of Protaras' promenade walkway, but only a 2 min walk to more bars and restaurants than anyone could possibly visit in a fortnight ! Rooms large and spotlessly clean, and all staff (and managers) the most friendly, helpful and attentive that I've ever known. I am a fussy eater, but I never failed to enjoy the food presented at lunch and dinner - a good choice of meats and salads (Visitors in some of the 'inland view' rooms get a good view of the nearby 'dancing waters' show, which is just behind the hotel !) This is my 18th visit to Cyprus, and I have thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Mandali and will very likely stay here again soon.

Pros. Clean hotel with a good location just minutes from Protaras strip and beach. Rooms were clean and bed and pillows were comfortable and we could get a good nights sleep. Bathrooms are adequate and look nice at fist glance but the bath was obviously very old and not updated when the room was, the terrible sealant job around it made it look worse. We had a late flight home but were able to use the shower facilities in the spa after a day on the beach before our coach collected us, hotel provides a towel. Cons. We stayed B&B the breakfast was ok but only ever lukewarm. A lot of the pool area is shaded in the afternoon but the beach is only a minute away. Outside furniture is in need of a update especially the cushions on the wicker look settees and chairs, they were flattened and mismatched and stained and just spoilt the look which is a shame because it would be an easy fix to replace the seat pads. It’s a 3 star hotel at the end of the day and we would stay again because of the good location and comfortable bed.

Paid for sea view, as given room 418 which had a pool and sea view. Stayed B&B so can't comment on evening meal. The good: close to beach (but you have to be at beach before 9am to secure a sunbed), aircon very good but a tad noisy, bed - large & firm but comfortable- slept very well, mini fridge (but needs to be set a little cooler), kettle with tea & coffee, safe cost E1.5 per day, all areas very clean, staff friendly, spacious car park for safe keeping of rental car, The not so good: Sunbeds are back breakers- very sloppy mesh not supportive at all. Pool is east facing so very shady early on in the day- no good for sunbathers but ok for me. Pool a little small but I was aware of this at time of booking so not complaining. The bad: only one thing to complain about- the lack of fresh uncut bread at breakfast- it was only served every 2-3 days otherwise its packet square bread - really not good enough. Breakfast was otherwise repetitive but acceptable. Protaras resort- great boardwalk along the beach and plenty of toilets & changing facilities all along it. The strip was 'entertaining' if you like that kind of thing. Local bus excellent value and runs until 4am!- Travels from Paralimni to Ayia Napa- E1.50 per journey or E5 to travel all day as hop on & off. Rent a car and get out to see beautiful Cyprus especially Troodos mountains (its so easy all signs in English & you drive on the left); I live in Norfolk and found the hairpin mountain roads of the Troodos were an absolute delight. Definitely coming back to Cyprus, but not to Protaras, its just not for me, but we found Mandali is a good cost-effective hotel.
