Makai Club Resort

We love this place. The staff was very nice esp Jana. Big thank you to her, she was so helpful and even remembered us from 6 months ago. The property is clean and quiet. We loved seeing and petting the cats that live on the property and some were cute and sweet (Paris and Nibbles). The location was great, about 10 mins from Hanalei. Great places to eat nearby and super close to the foodland plaza. This is our happy place. Can't wait to be back.

We loved this place. It was very clean and had everything we needed. It was great to have a kitchen and washer and washer and dryer. We were provided beach chairs and a cooler. Borrowed bikes and golf clubs for free. Enjoyed the pool and hot tub. Beautiful view from the lanai. Friendly and helpful staff. The only drawback of staying in Princeville is the distance to the other parts of the island but I still highly recommend it.

We were pleased with the location and amenities. It is an older property but has been well maintained. We did have a few bugs in the kitchen but not bad. They sprayed for us and I only saw one bug after that. Had an air conditioner not cooling well but the problem was addressed the next day.

First you should know there is no air condition in the cottages, there is a nice cross breeze with all the windows when the wind is blowing but still gets very warm during the day and right when you would be cooking dinner. They supply 2 fans but at least 2 more would be really helpful in cooling it down until late night. The 2BR cottages are very roomy and gives great privacy for both BR. These units are dated a bit but we did not mind we had everything we needed except extra fans. It is quite large which we enjoyed with both BR having king beds again a great bonus for my son and his girlfriend who were with us as they had their privacy since each BR is on each side of the house, the beds are comfy as well as the couches and chairs. The grounds are well maintained and beautiful. Kitchen had all we needed also. Nice balcony with umbrella, table and chairs where I enjoyed my coffee when we were not dashing out the door to some excursion. We would stay here again just know the chickens will wake you up during the night and early morning you get used to it though. Front desk is very accommodating as well.

We had a one bedroom toward the back of the complex. The unit was very dated with large heavy drapes throughout the condo. The air conditioning was sub par. The deck overlooked an overgrown green area. The complex was well cared for and clean, however, I did not care for the dated furniture, old TV, and worn unit. I would not stay here again.

This resort offers a quiet setting, great staff, clean and comfy unit, amenities to enjoy your beach time. Over the years I have stayed here for a total of 5 weeks. Will definitely be back someday.

We stayed at Makai for a week while vacationing in Kauai. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The resort was clean and quiet. We loved our one bedroom condo. The views were amazing. Having a full kitchen and washer/dryer was awesome. We would stay here again!

My husband, my brother and I were visiting family on Kaua'i, and the Makai Resort seemed the best option. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the cottage was gorgeous, clean, and well appointed. The 2 suite layout was exactly suited to our needs. The kitchen and laundry were convenient, and the bedroom and bathroom were comfortable. One small negative was that it was not as quiet as I would have thought, given the location. Another, much larger negative, was that if you arrive after dark, it is VERY difficult to find. We had GPS on our phone, and it took us 5 or 6 phone calls to the office to try to locate the turn off. A larger sign and better illumination would be very helpful.

We enjoyed the resort, and we appreciated the beach chairs and umbrella that we could use for the week. We also liked the book exchange, and the videos that we could check out that had Kauai as the setting.
