The Hotel at Mill Farm

From the website it is, in my opinion, overhyped. The adjacent facilities are a petrol station, Aldi, Burger King and KFC. Never mind though I looked forward to kicking of my shoes in the room, which was very spacious, zip link bed, floor to ceiling window overlooking the pitch. Bathroom very tasteful. Mirror wall facing the door which adds to a feeling of luxury. However the downside to this is that the toilet is at right angles in very close proximity to the mirror. Hence you see yourself sitting there and the toilet roll holder is squeezed into the small space between you and the mirror. The floor had a pool of trickled water from the radiator. They came to fix the problem whilst we were out. It was worse on our return later that evening so we placed a towel strategically. We had looked forward to having a meal in the advertised Milano restaurant. Complete darkness so we went into the coffee shop. Again darkness. I later enquired about the restaurant and was informed it has been closed since Covid! The website should be updated to reflect that these facilities are either not trading or, open limited times (Aroma Cafe). The cafe was open for breakfasts but tables are in very close Proximity. The breakfast though was excellent -Perfect scrambled and poached eggs. I had hoped/expected a pool for 5* and I was not alone in this as some other guests felt similarly. I do feel that if the inspection followed the established grade criteria it does not meet it.

Strange set up this hotel. Girl sitting on Reception with sports fur coat on. Got to Our room looked like someone had half done the bed and slept on other side. Recepirted this receptionist, her answer was cleaner has probably fell on it 😂😂😂 Breakfast in morning was advised no sausages available on breakfast 🤷‍♂️ Then fur coat reception from night before failed to show for morning shift 🤷‍♂️so night man and the cleaner had to step in. Could be a nice place with right paid staff At moment Fawlty towers springs to mind. Wardrobe doors need oiling and bathroom Shower screen needs realigning. Oak floor short to bath floor 15 mm 🤷‍♂️ Main bar on Saturday night 3 people in bar 🤷‍♂️

This is just an amazing hotel. We only stayed 1 night, unfortunately, but it was just the best. The hotel itself is so nice. It’s clean, quiet, very stylish and we felt very special. Our room was just gorgeous with everything you need in a room. The view was of the pitch, amazing! The decor was very up to date. The bathroom was soooo nice. Huge shower with toiletries supplied and excellent quality towels that were actually big enough. The bed was huge with the best pillows we’ve ever had in any hotel and so comfy. There was even a fridge with water and fresh milk. Tea & coffee making facilities with decent mugs. There was an iron and ironing board, a hairdryer, robes & slippers and an illuminated mirror in the bathroom but the best was a huge TV! Normally in a hotel I can’t see the screens without distance glasses but this must have been at least a 65” if not more. The room was simply perfect. The breakfast was the best we’ve had in a long time in any hotel (a welcome find after a Premier Inn breakfast swimming in oil and fat we’d had the week earlier in Scotland) Just sorry we only had one night but we’d most definitely stay again. Only saw 3 staff but they were pleasant and friendly. Well done Mill Farm Hotel.
