Large, clean apartment room, with cool decor… free overnight parking and fabulous, clear, helpful pre- arrival and departure comms. I stayed for a business trip and made some time to explore downtown Portsmouth as a walking tourist. This is a great base from which to do so.

We really enjoyed our stay. First, there is parking on site which is huge for us as we traveled 5 hrs and it’s the last thing you want to do is look for a parking spot. We stayed on our way to Maine to split up the trip and my wife had to work from her computer the next day. We’ve stayed in Portsmouth many times over the years but never in a spot like this. Close to everything and all walking distance. Enjoyed my morning stroll for coffee and the night prior we enjoyed the many restaurants and bars. It was the first place in a long time that I wanted to just hang out in a hotel room. The room was impeccable and the amenities were enough for a long stay I just found a new place on our way to Maine

Overnight for move
Vacated our home while moving. Enjoyed spending the night Downtown. No staff, coded entry. Nice comfy room. Didn’t need anything else.

Historic and Charming Inn
The Inn Downtown was very charming, well-appointed, clean, and extremely convenient to everything that downtown Portsmouth has to offer. The arrangements for check-in and check-out were straightforward, and the communications from the owner/manager were excellent. We will definitely stay there again.

Perfect location, everything we wanted to do in Portsmouth was within walking distance. Room was large, comfortable and had everything needed for our stay. The hotel is impeccably decorated, which is a nice change from your usual sterile hotel setting. Easy check in, easy check out. Very happy with stay. Highly recommended for anyone thinking of staying in the area. Cava restaurant and Jimmy's Jazz club were highlights of our trip.

The property is super well located and our room was pretty nice, though some of the finishings (bathroom tile, kitchen appliances) left a little to be desired. Our real issue though was with what we feel is false or at least misleading advertisement in the use of the word "hotel" or even "inn" as the property is listed as such on tripadvisor and elsewhere, and described by them as an "apart-hotel". The reality is that it is much much closer to apartment than hotel, as hotels have on-site staff and often amenities- this has neither and for $500 a night we certainly didn't expect to be carrying our own heavy bags up three flights of stairs. I think they should abandon the use of "hotel" and "inn" in their marketing. The innovation they tout in their "apart-hotel" model seems to apply more to profit margin than guest experience. And even if it was a proper hotel, the value for money was not great.
