Unfortunately I don’t have much positives to say. The service was poor. We waiting about 15 min for them to take away both our starter and main plates. No one checked on us during the meal. We ordered a drink that never arrived. The food wasn’t great either. My vegetable curry consisted of the veg that accompanied everyone else’s dishes (carrots, cabbage and potatoes). They even put cucumber from the side salad in the curry! The tomatoes from the side salad hadn’t even been freshly cut as had a sort of film over them. No one enjoyed the food. Some dishes were over cooked or burnt. Some were tasteless. Some just had poor quality ingredients so didn’t taste great. The only positives I can give is that the portions are big and they had a decent drinks selection. Would not return.

Stayed two nights. Repeat visitor. Room (twin) was excellent - great beds and even better bathroom/shower. Two dinners were reasonably good - servings far too large. Breakfasts were a disappointment - omelette was extremely dry, overcooked and ridiculously large. Condiments were all packaged as were the cereals and juices. Pretty basic and could be significantly improved. The cooked breakfast (non-omelette) was pretty good. Generally, I felt teh food let the side down - the facilities are great. Staff were helpful at all times. I will return due to the great rooms. A little unsure what to do re the food as thjere are few alternatives locally

Great hotel, nice clean rooms, great staff and the food is fantastic. 16 of us stayed for 3 nights on a golf trip, staff couldn't have been nicer and everyone really enjoyed it,could not fault the place, great bar with sports TV and also a dartboard,would definitely stay again!!

Extremely disappointed with our meal 6.8.24 as it so far off the usual high standard. Two of our mains were served cold, even after we asked for them to be reheated, and the chicken and haggis was so dry it was inedible. The steak pie and the chicken Maryland were overcooked, and when I passed on my concerns to the waitress there was no apology offered. What has gone so dreadfully wrong for the standard to slip so much??

Snack lunch here in lovely old style hotel. No sandwiches on the menu but they made some up to our request. Generous servings and very tasty . Staff friendly and very attentive. General menu looked good . Would recommend and will visit again when we are back in the area.

During our weekend away for a wedding in Peterhead, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Kilmarnock Arms. The breakfast and dinner options are superb and the quality of the food was simply amazing. The portions are very big but extremely tasty. Accommodation was cosy and comforting - very much a home from home.

Great feed good sized portions and exquisite style loved it!and great food for the price if you get the bothy it’s a nice touch with all the bram stokers and history of slains castle nearby lovely old fashioned rustic look but fits the feel of the place will definitely be back top class

The food is very tasy with a plentiful menu. Nice variety of dishes. Large portions of goid food, didn't have room for a pudding. Lovely cosy lounge/bar with friendly, attentive helpful staff. Could not fault a thing!

Visited for both lunch and dinner during a visit to Cruden Bay. Food was spectacular - good menu choice, large portions and the quality was superb. The game casserole with neeps and haggis was a delight. Staff were also welcoming and friendly.
