Hotel Saratz

Great alternative to nearby 5 star hotel. Fireplace at the lobby is very cozy. Nice spa area, decent rooms.

We stayed in a standard room, which was big but fairly basic, though clean. Good amenities (the room had a kettle and a coffee machine). Efficient housekeeping staff. The shower & toilet was was modern and quite large, with a bath and a shower. The hotel welcomes dogs, we found some really nice. big (and friendly) breeds in the lobby more than once. The lobby area (bar, etc) have a lovely, upmarket ambience, with equally friendly, smiling staff. Though Pontresina railway station is a 10-12 minute walk from the hotel, it's terribly uphill from the station to the hotel (preferable the other way). The hotel provides a free transfer though. There are lovely walking areas around the hotel, both forest and urban. Plenty of car parking at the hotel, though a booking may be needed. The food in the hotel is amazing, though expensive.

The experience was exceptional, with outstanding hospitality and breathtaking views at the hotel. The food and the hotel property left a lasting impression. The desire to return with family for a memorable stay was evident, and overall, the experience was greatly appreciated and cherished.

It is not the first time we stayed in this hotel and as before we were fully satisfied with the service and the room. The hotel offers excellent breakfast and delicious dinner. It has a reasonable size pool and nice wellness area.

This was our first visit to Pontresina and we chose the Saratz for its reputation, central location, indoor/outdoor pools, ease of access to train and bus transportation, nearby hiking trails. wonderful views to the Roseg glacier from our room, and the half board meal plan. We enjoyed all the hotel had to offer including the small things - in-room beauty products and Nespresso machine for that morning coffee, However, the hotel is large and also caters to guests at the conference center across from the hotel. This means that on occasions the hotel staff are over-stretched taking care of the many guests and meal service is affected - long duration waiting for meal courses. This leads to a less-than-personal feeling for the guest that we find is common place in hotels in alpine settings in Italy and Austria. Our room (bed and sitting area) was comfortable however the bathroom (an old shower tub with plastic non-slip mat) is not up to the standard we would expect in a 4* hotel. We did have a great week of exploring and hiking the local area using the transportation pass that is included in the hotel room rate to get around. Take the Panorama trail from Alp Languard to Muottas Muragl for splendid views of the mountains, glaciers and lakes.

the corner suite on the left hand side has by far the most outstanding mountain views. It's nothing short of elating to enjoy the views in the mornings. Overall the skiing holidays in this Hotel have been most enjoyable. The half board arrangement was great and so the overall service. We will be back for sure

The experience at Saratz is always fabulous. We are a family with one kid and we visit often the Hotel , which is very comfortable and family friendly. The room is spacious, clean, comfortable and beautiful with a wonderful view of the mountain landscape. In the room they have an awesome cosmetic line of shampoo, conditioner, soap and cream which has a very good fragrance and good quality. They also have beverage like coffee and some soft drinks included. The service is very kind and caring. The breakfast buffet has a very wide range of options, and everything is very delicious and of great quality. The wellness area is beautiful , clean and very relaxing and they have many massages and therapies options. The indoor swimming pool is great during the winter, as well as the outdoor pool area which is not only extremely gorgeous next to nature but also relaxing. The kids area at the Spielparadies is also very spacious with many toys and activities everyday the whole day, and they also have a variety of outdoor activities on the schedule. The Staff at the Spielparadies are great, super kind and very caring. The kids always have loads of fun. The hotel also has a huge outdoor area with mini golf, chess, Tipi tent for kids and many other attractions . the experience as a whole is always incredibly excellent. I can for sure recommend. The hotel is incredibly wonderful and well worth a visit.

Das Hotel wie immer gut. Aber das Halbpension-Menu war nicht Saratz-Like. Ich nahm den Fisch der ging noch, aber der Spinat war nicht gewürzt und sowas von fad. Das Tiramisu war alles andere als gelungen. Das Biskuit musste man suchen, dafür 95% Rahm. Wenn es nicht auf der Karte gelesen hätte, wäre man nie darauf gekommen das es ein Tiramisu ist. Provisore ist wirklich ein Provisorium und laut. Die Stühle sind sehr alt, wackelig und nach zehn Minuten tat mir der Rückenweh. Es ist alles andere als gemütlich und lädt gar nicht zum Verweilen und das Essen geniessen ein.
