Large, airy, pleasant rooms and a sunny sheltered garden. The hotel is in a good location between Pompei station and the main street and the ruins. There are bars and restaurants are a few steps away which do not disturb the peace of the hotel or garden. The hotel is nearest to the Piazza Anfiteatro entrance to the ruins which is less busy than the Porta Marina entrance. There was a good variety on the cold breakfast buffet and plenty of it. The friendly staff serve you excellent coffee (in good sized mugs). There is no bar. There is a fridge with chilled water. A good selection of glasses so you can bring your own drinks in. The water pressure in our upstairs rooms wasn't great but friends in the ground floor had no problem. There is secure parking at the hotel. We travelled by train via Salerno to and from Pompei. Trains are quick, comfortable and cheap but there were some large gaps in the timetable, so plan your times, don't just turn-up. There was a 2 hour gap from 10:07 to 12:07 on Sunday. If you are not getting a guided tour you will need a map and possibly a guide book you can get a map at the entry gate (free) or various places in town. The hotel Wi-Fi is very good, important for downloading guides and information about the ruins. Get these at least the day before if you can, it's a huge site and you will need to plan your visit.
