Nestled right at the entrance of Goa The Lalit was our family's choice of 5star property in Goa. We drove 10 hours and reached on 1st January 2025 for 3 nights. I guess the staff was tired with the 31st Night Celebrations of something, the check in experience felt like they are not interested in guests anymore. To my polite ask of an "Upgrade" got literally a disgusted response from the front desk. However their Kokam welcome drink soothed our mood. We were a group of 4 and had booked 2 rooms. The Rooms are Large Clean but pretty old, and lack any modern amenities, having NO Charging ports was a huge let down. The Furniture in the rooms are old. RED FLAG the chair we had in our room the cushion was broken and both me & my son fell down. The reception / house keeping were clueless why they dint have the Bar Menu in the room. We called them for a Bar Menu and after 45 mins someone called and said that, there is no bar menu and we need to scan the QR code on the TV. The Bed we had was Squeaking all night. However the Pillows had "Hard and Soft Variety" Other major issue we faced was on Day 2 when around 1Pm we tried to call front desk, and No one answered. We tried Housekeeping and that went unanswered and same happened with In Room Dining. We tried umpteen times, in the end we made a 3 min video where the same thing happened. It's a huuuuuge 85 acre, lush green beautiful property just given at the hands of some careless staff. The Breakfast menu was OK, we have stayed at some other properties that are 5-Star which are cheaper than this property like Hilton, W etc in Goa, spread was very basic compared to them. However I must call out NEHA & Subhrato in the Dining Hall they were fabulous hosts took real care for us. The Beach restaurant has wonderfully located but the beach only had three shaded beds. So we had to settle in the beds available in a juice corner literally next to the restaurant. When we asked for towels, they denied it stating that we are sitting in a different place. It was simply appalling. The POOL is extremely beautiful and serves to everyone including toddlers. The Pool has a small bar too. The property is huge but the Baggi Service is very slow and pretty much non accessible. My wife had to wait for 45 mins at the restaurant and eventually had to walk back to her room. There are more issues in the three days we stayed which made me feel the "The Lalit is Dying" and does not deserve a 5 star rating and certainly not a value for money. Feels like it boasts for 5 star for the beautiful property but lacks hospitality, customer care. Their Social Media team is even pathetic. I raised the issue on the same afternoon, as the front desk was not answering. I got a revert from them after 4 days promising a call back. Finally when I got a call, It was from the Hotel Staff who said he looked at my profile and found out I stayed in the property in October. HA HA HA !! They need an upgrade in Rooms, Staff, Tech They use
