Patnem Dwarka

This secluded collection of tasteful and slightly quirky cottages are set back from Patnem beach among shady palms and beautiful marigolds gardens. The cottages are thatched with special grass and clad in bamboo which makes them so much more attractive and natural than many others on the beach. The verandahs are perfect for relaxing out of the fierce afternoon sun. Aircon was quiet and efficient, fans also. Bathroom had a smart marble top and a good shower. Lovely pristine white sheets, with attractive cushions and bed throw, antique wardrobe and dressing table and a good mosquito net. The manageress Poonam was very efficient and friendly, every day she dressed immaculately, always looking cool and elegant. There is no restaurant here so it makes it even more of a peaceful retreat. Plenty of choice for dining a couple of minute’s walk away.

Very tastefully done luxury cottage. Right on the beach. I was fortunate to get a good deal. Next time I will stay in the sea facing ones ...sunrise was stupendous! I took an unforgettable walk down the beach & got some great pictures to share with my friends who are complaining of the cold & the pollution back in Delhi.

Ich glaube, ich habe Patnem’s best kept secret gefunden. Dwarka Patnem liegt etwas zurückgesetzt und von außen unscheinbar am stillen nördlichen Ende von Patnem Beach. In 1 bis 10 Minuten lassen sich von hier alle Strandrestaurants und in 5 Minuten die Ortsmitte mit Supermarkt, Rikshastand, einigen Souvenirshops und noch mehr Restaurants erreichen und mit 15 Minuten Spaziergang erreicht *** das quirligere Palolem. Die Unterkunft hat nur wenige Zimmer. Poonam ist eine wunderbare sympathische Gastgeberin, die alles im Blick hat und Tillu werkelt den ganzen Tag, um alles in Ordnung zu halten. Die Unterkunft hat kein eigenes Restaurant, was gut ist, denn dadurch hat der Gast noch mehr Privatsphäre. Die Hütten verdienen den Namen nicht, denn es sind komfortable, helle, freundliche, großzügige, geschmackvoll eingerichtete Unterkünfte mit Klimaanlage. Bettwäsche und Handtücher sind makellos weiß, das Bett mit Moskitonetz ist bequem, das Bad hat freien Blick zum Himmel und in Palmen, alles ist gepflegt und einwandfrei sauber. *** muss nur auch naturnah wohnen wollen, denn sowohl das Bad ist halb offen zum Himmel als auch die Front ist im Grunde offen, zwar mit Schloss und gutem Sichtschutz, aber ohne Glasscheibe, sodass *** sich vom Wellenrauschen in den Schlaf wiegen lassen kann. Zu jeder Hütte gehört eine private Terrasse mit bequemer Sitzgelegenheit. Mit 20 Schritten ist *** am Strand, wo Strandliegen auf die Gäste warten. Ich habe mich hier von der ersten bis zur letzten Minute willkommen, gut aufgehoben und uneingeschränkt wohl gefühlt und würde diese Unterkunft jederzeit jedem Luxushotel vorziehen.
