Town Lodge Polokwane

Fantastic experience Lovely room for my partner and I. All expectations were met. You guys rock. Room was beautiful and clean Coffee machine and juice was a nice surprise. We will definitely be back again. The food was delicious - good food freshly prepared.

One of the worst hotels I have been too from a business process and service perspective. The checking in and out took over 45min despite the fact that there was only 1 person in front of me. The manager was unfriendly and lacked service excellence. For Dinner food took over an hour to arrive and when it arrived it was cold. The rooms have to telephone and the air conditioner is old and outdated.

It was average at best. The hotel was really packed for the two days I was there, almost as though they accomodate beyond their capacity. Felt like being at dormitories or frat house. If it isn't full of NWU students, its members of Correctional services with guns. Struggled to find a place to sit for breakfast, and dinner. Speaking of which, dinner was not good, the oil they used for my meat had strange aftertaste. I guess that's what happens when you are making meals for the millions of occupants that were being accomodated there, you can't put attention and love into meals. Breakfast was good though. Shower in my room had so much pressure, I think it could dent a car, had to use the hand held one. Don't think I'm coming back here. People shouting in the corridors from 8pm. Decent though if you're only going to spend one night. Beds are clean and comfortable. Room service good. Pity about the capacity issues

The welcome from the lady called Rose was not welcoming, she was rude in her tone when we asked about the restaurant closing times. After placing an order for our food she didn't explain how we should pay and just said the food its booked under the room, next thing when collexting food she mentioned that I need to come back quick as i didnt have my bank card with, because she wanted to close the till. She even mentioned that i should not eat 1st but drop food and come back because she wants to close. This lady Rose needs training in customer service else she shouldn't be on the front desk.

The courteous staff - from front desk to kitchen and housekeeping - deserve spelling mention. My request to have my room cleaned earlier was granted and executed without any hassle. Room 153 is however not a good choice with the unbearable noise, presumably from the ice machine around 02:00 in the morning.

My wife and I made a stopover here on our way between national parks. The position is very good if you don't want to go through town. We did not enjoy the motel due to the following issues. No lift - We were on the 3rd floor. With heavy and multiple bags, it was a tough slog. We were not aware of this beforehand. Air Conditioner is very noisy, and as it was a hot night, which made it almost impossible to sleep. The swimming pool was closed for maintenance. Nothing mentioned on the website or when booking was made. Our room was right at the top of the stairs, and the doors are not very sound proof, so we heard people talking in the hallway and on the stairs late at night and early morning. (Tip - Do not get rooms 50 or 51) Breakfast was ok, but a little expensive compared to what we normally pay. It's not an expensive hotel, but not really cheap. I don't think I would stay there again.
