Apartamentos Habitat

This was our third visit to Habitat and once again it didn't disappoint! Apartment was fresh, spacious, bright and clean. Beds were comfortable and had a good night sleep every night. The location is great - there is a small supermarket across the road has all your basic needs plus freshly cooked, warm baguettes and pastries. There is also a bar if you don't want to walk to Puerto Pollensa. The walk to Puerto Pollensa is about 15-20 mins however, we jumped on the bus just on the road outside which stops at the bus depot and is a couple of minutes walk to the town centre.

Overall our stay was fine but a huge let down for us occurred at check in which unfortunately left us with a really poor first impression. We arrived at 9pm for check in with our 10 month old baby, and asked the staff member at the desk if the cot we had pre-booked was already set up in the room. We were then told that there were no cots available despite the fact we had pre-booked one with our apartment. The staff member didn’t seem to care and said we could have a spare mattress instead, which obviously for a 10 month old baby is not appropriate given how much they move around in their sleep and the risk of falling. We were left with no option but to co-sleep and move around furniture to ensure there was no risk of our baby falling out of bed, which was not ideal for us and resulted in a very poor nights sleep for us all, but this would have been totally unacceptable had this happened to a family and baby with health concerns where co-sleeping can be dangerous. This fell far below our expectations for apartments which are supposedly child friendly. One of the pools was filled with dead leaves and there were loads of mosquitoes outside made worse by the plants and stagnant water ponds in the grounds. Location wise it was not as peaceful as we expected, the noise and view of the busy road was a shame and the loud music in the bar across the road late at night was annoying. WiFi was terrible, I used my data instead. Positive points are the apartment is cleaned regularly, parking availability was good, the air con worked well and it was easy walking distance to local amenities.

Nice pool, clean apartments (although smell of disinfectant a bit overpowering), just a 12 minute stroll to the restaurants and shops in Puerto Pollensa. The supermarket across the road is very handy and the balconies overlooking the pool are lovely. However, the bar across the road with its loud Elvis nights etc is a total pain. It's not every night and it doesn't go on too late, but still ruins a nice peaceful evening on the balcony. For this reason I am giving Habitat apartments 3 instead of 4 stars.

Receptionist on arrival was rude. Peered to chat to her friend. Ignored us. Put us on 3rd floor even after I told her I had a mobility disability. I really struggled. No lift. No parasols by pool. Could not sit out and read as there was no shade or protection from sun. Plenty of loungers? Dirt round pool was bad. Door to our apartment did not fit properly. Key was worse. Spent 5 minutes each day trying to get in and out. Good job the bus service was good. Could get away to beach and other areas. No oven, only small hob and microwave. Couldn't cook proper food. We did eat at both local restaurants. One better than other but was quite expensive.

HolidayHabitat Apartments Puerto Pollenca Not my best choice. Best & Worst Bits: Very basic, clean, friendly staff. Garden area well maintained 2 nice swimming pools. Neither had more then six people in at a time whilst we were here. Plenty of sunloungers no need to get up early to save. Apartment small beds hard shower was brilliant plenty of hot water all the time. Air con worked occasionally,doors and windows must be shut to do so. Although ours only worked when it felt like it. Wifi drops out constantly untill I reset it. Literally on a main A road to Palma huge roundabout outside our balcony you can not sit on as so loud and busy. Bus stop outside window with buses every 20 minutes or so.The port is a good 15 minute walk ok if your upto it but wouldn't fancy doing it with small children along the main road although we did find an alternative. Small supermarket across the road a pub restaurant good company and food. Would I come again NO way

Excellent service, cleaning, facilities (you can even use teh gym and sauna / pool / jacuzzi and neighbouring Duma hotel) . great value and local supermarket and few bars and restaurants over the road. 10 min walk to sea front and 15 min to town centre. 5 min to large Eroski supermarket. 2 x pools and very quiet and safe gardens. will use again and highly recommend
