The Drake Hotel Plymouth

This hotel is situated in a perfect location, the staff were so helpful and friendly. The accommodation is both modern and clean. The hotel has parking and is a short walk from the Barbican and city centre. I would stay again and recommend a first floor room.

My experience at Drake Hotel was exemplary from start to finish. Amy on reception called me before I arrived to check my arrival time and if I required a parking space. On arrival, I was met with warmth and kindness with great attention to detail (did I want a mug to take to my room as the cups were small). The room was carefully thought out with everything included (tea, coffee, toiletries) and well equipped with charging points essential for the business travel. My night was quiet and comfortable. Breakfast was amazing, cooked to order: delicious and piping hot. Despite having to check out at 10.30, the hotel allowed me to use their bar for several hours to conduct my meetings before I went on to my face to face meeting. Thank you to Amy and all the team for a lovely stay. I will definitely be staying again when I return to Plymouth.

What a find The Drake was ! Visiting our daughter at uni and the hotel was perfectly placed to walk into town or to the Barbican area The hotel is spotlessly clean in all areas The bedroom was luxurious and so comfortable , dark at night and also very quiet, there is a great shower and amenities available Breakfast was outstanding , hot food and the best poached eggs ! The buffet section was also very well stocked with fruit, juices, cereals , toast and various toppings for the toast The staff here go above and beyond and we felt so welcomed by them all I would absolutely book here again in a heart beat and book direct for a better rate See you all again

We booked the hotel because we were taking our son to Uni. Small hotel but brilliant. We received excellent service from start to finish. Due to my husband's foot injury we were booked a parking space. Family room bright and very clean with a spacious bathroom. Breakfast was included and was tasty and boiling hot. Will be returning in the future no more premier inn visits for us. Thanks to all staff at the hotel.

Nice little hotel ideally located for a visit to Plymouth. Close to the hoe, city and the harbour. Free parking a huge bonus being so central to everything, meaning once parked, we didn’t need the car until leaving, and it was no problem leaving the car there for a while after check out. Clean room. Comfy firm bed. Nice bit of modernisation with the tiling. Great to see not 1 but 2 tissue boxes! Fantastic breakfast with a good choice. Cooked breakfast done to order so better than a buffet where food is left lingering, and the cut up fresh fruit was a lovely touch - best I’ve seen in many different hotels and countries! Only downside was the noisy seagulls in the morning but that comes with the location

Stayed one night. Last minute. I travel loads and stay in so many places. This hotel ranks high for me. Stayed here in May. Sorry for late review. Good location. Room was perfect. Breakfast really good. Free parking but limited. To be honest for hotel guests there is a place for everyone even if it's a tight space. Definitely 10/10. Girls on reception really professional and lovely

Perfectly placed hotel for Plymouth, one night stay, theatre royal show first night, just down the hill. Parking good, able to park after 10.30 am checkout until 1pm. Lovely staff. Brilliant breakfast and the whole place is so clean. The bed, the parking and the breakfast, very good value. Will definitely book again.

Had a great few days here the staff were great especially amy who went above and beyond to help room was lovely and clean great location for everything breakfast was lovely and lots of choice we will be back again as had a great time not far to walk everwhere we even did the open top bus and it stops on opposite side to hotel

Visited as two adults and child in a family room for one night to do some daytime shopping and explore the Barbican and Hoe in the evening. Upon booking we noticed it is stated that parking was limited but there was a possibility they could reserve us a space, we requested a parking space and upon arrival a traffic cone was in place with our surname taped on it at the rear of the hotel, this would be typical of their service throughout our time there, helpful and diligent. The room was lovely and clean airy with a decent toilet/shower room, which was also clean. The beds are comfy and the TV in the room was a good size also. The bar area was quite small but comfortable and again the service from staff was very accommodating. The manager who helped us was very polite and helpful, big thumbs up to Amy who is a credit to the hotel. The breakfast/dining area is nice and the cooked breakfast was made to order and not a buffet affair like in some bigger establishments. The location of the hotel is also highly recommended if, like us, you want to explore the seafront areas, Barbican and do some shopping in city centre. All are within a 10-15 minute walk at the most, The Drake Hotel is situated fairly centrally to all these areas and we didn't need to use the car or a bus for the duration of our stay. We suggest booking direct as discounts and price matching are offered, speak to Amy. We shall definitely stay here again.
