Vanilla Garden Boutique Hotel - Adults Only

My friend and I are just back from a lovely holiday at this fabulous little hotel. Everyone works very hard and are always cheerful and helpful. The room was really nice, such comfy beds and the best shower and all so nice and clean. It’s a short walk to the seafront, shops and bars but so very peaceful and calm. A little oasis! We stayed half board and loved all our meals, there’s something for everyone beautifully displayed and hot. We received an email from Tui about the nearby building work and considered changing to another hotel but are so glad we didn’t.( Hardly noticed anything) All in all a really good holiday. Wonderful hotel, tucked away but so near to all the attractions of Americas. This hotel is a great little find. Adults only and just 108 rooms. It’s really quiet and the garden and grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The staff are fantastic, very helpful and friendly. We emailed ahead and asked for a room on the top floor with afternoon sunshine and that’s what we got. Glass of fizz at check in ..Comfortable beds and a great shower. We paid €21 for the safe for eight nights. We stayed half board, the breakfast is great, everything you want including a friendly egg man/lady. There’s a bottle of fizz available on the bar to accompany your breakfast ! The evening meal had a great selection of hot and cold food and in addition, two specialties cooked to order each evening, usually fish and pork. We usually had the red wine and it was great at €3.60 a glass. You could buy a bottle and save some for the next day, which is a nice touch. There are plenty of comfortable sun sofas, some people did get up early and reserve them, but we found that the beds on the right hand side of the pool didn’t get sunshine until around lunchtime and you could always get one of those which suited us fine. There’s a happy hour from 4-5 in the bar (cocktails and beer ) which isn’t really advertised so make the most of it ! We walked to Los Christianos and Adeje, but can highly recommend getting a bus to Playa San Juan. Turn left out of the hotel and walk to the top of the road, the TITSA bus no.473 takes about an hour but you get to see the other resorts. Just Google the timetable and it shows you the stops…it’s a quiet little fishing town. We had lunch at a great little bar on the front… Tasca El Aljibe - at Avenida el Emigrante. Delicious warm bread with dips, we shared two very generous tapas - delicious cheese croquettes and tuna salad, we had two beers and six glasses of good white wine all for €38.70, fantastic value. I’d highly recommend this hotel for a stay in America’s.

Small hotel with a small pool so by 9am there is a queue for sunbeds. Rooms were fine with a big bathroom. Bathroom had hand wash, shower gel and shampoo, plus a hairdryer. Wasn’t impressed with 1 of the staff (male with glasses, black hair) - after breakfast he sat in the corner near the yellow gate and was unhelpful. He didn’t help me when I couldn’t open the gate, he just said “use your card” whilst still sat there. He didn’t even help an old lady when she was struggling too. The hotel is not all inclusive so we went to get a soft drink from the supermarket next door, the same guy told us off for drinking this at our sunbeds. Apart from him - all the other staff were excellent! Breakfast had a good choice - freshly made poached eggs and omelette. Location of the hotel was brilliant - easily walkable and accessible to anywhere around Playa las Americas, Adeje and Los Cristianos.

We stayed at VGB for 3 nights after a Marella cruise. Was slightly nervous as never been to Tenerife for a holiday, there were a number of poor reviews and received a noise notification from TUI a few weeks before we travelled. This hotel is a gem, it is spotless, the rooms are huge, the pool, bar area are so comfortable and the food was delicious. We stayed half board and had more than enough choice for both breakfast and evening meal. Drinks were not pricey, so we drank there each day/night. They had live music, and showed sports on bar TV. A great way to spend a few days on land before coming home

Gorgeous adults only hotel,from arriving after a weeks cruise everything was perfect.The staff were very helpful and cheerful,rooms spotless and very comfortable,pool area plenty of very comfy beds,food was gorgeous ,from breakfast to dinner the food was freshly cooked,always hot and a great variety of tasty and varied dishes.We’ve already booked another week here for December.

First impressions are good,extremely friendly and helpful staff from reception, cleaner's, restaurant staff & chefs, etc. Room was overlooking pool which would have been fine apart from the building work going on from 8am to sometimes until 8pm,(normally they don't work on a weekend only one Saturday while we were there for 3 weeks) consistent banging etc,this is major a major work project, no fault of the hotel, but tui should explain more clearly its extremely off putting in our opinion, luckily we could move to another room a couple of days later, new room was definitely better a quieter area,apart from the gate from the next doors Hotel Gala, which screeched ever time it opened or closed, sometimes from1:45 am rubbish collection, or when staff entered or left it screeched, after complaining to our reception I presume they did try to resolve the issue,I actually went round myself to the Hotel Gala reception explained the problem and to get it sorted, very helpful, apologetic staff, all it needed was a bit of WD40 on it, and 20 minutes later it was fixed,finally we could get some tranquil sleep time. Sunbeds could be a issue the first week no problems whatsoever, went down at 9am easily get a bed, the last 2 weeks certain people queued from 8am until it opened at 9am, staff did sometimes remove towels from beds if on before 9am, to be honest some folks reserved beds from 9am and didn't show up until after lunch 🤬 others believe me or not reserved 4 beds for 2 people crazy selfish folks, if you have a disability issues if you ask at reception they will reserve beds for you. Pool towels are available from reception. There is a washing machine and tumble dryer available 4/5 euros useful for long stayers. Food most days was plentiful and enjoyable, something for even the most fussiest of eaters, they have themed evenings, French,Italian English etc. It can be a bit hectic at breakfast especially for eggs cooked fresh, omelette, fried,poached etc. Example of prices from the bar a pint is 4 .50 euros, a bottle of dorada especial 3 euros (330mls), wine 3.60 a glass, still water 3.60 a bottle 750mls. Entertainment on every evening from 7:15pm until 10pm some very good ,some average a personal choice. It's a real shame about the building work and sunbed hoggers so for that reason we wouldn't return at present. I've submitted some photos of building work and 8am sunbed hoggers.
