Elba Lanzarote Royal Village Resort

Total (3.5/5). I cannot give it a 3 so it’s 4 on the list but my award is 3.5 Hotel facilities. (5/5) We stayed here from 7/3/25 to 14/3/25 The hotel is 45 approx from the airport. The hotel is not on the beach/water front. It’s a 25 minute walk down a pedestrianised area to get to the beach. It’s fairly flat and has no steps to get there. The hotel provides a bus service to get there, but stops quite early. This hotel has everything you need for a great stay. It’s is very clean and always smells nice. There seems to have a sustainable nature to this hotel, which is good to see. The hotel is completely accessible and you can get everywhere around in the hotel without the need of stairs. The hotel is divided into 2 distinct areas. These are the premium suites (which are for adults only) and the village area. We stayed in the premium suites. To enter the premium suite, you have to walk through the gate that your key card lets you through. However, you could just walk round the gate and enter the premium suites area. Inside this area there is a pool and bar area all hidden away from the rest of the hotel and very very peaceful. The Jamoe kpool bar is fantastic and the staff here are amazing and always want to help you and provide you a good time. Their service is excellent. As well as the premium area, the top floor of the atrium is for premium guests only. In this area there is a dining room and a bar area. As premium members you are allowed 1 free spa visit and 1 free ala carte restaurant visit. You are also allowed to use the rest of the hotel facilities as well. The rest of the hotel has a spa (which is pay as you use it), multiple kids pools, 2 ala carte restaurants, kids play areas, a restaurant and an entertainment area. The gardens are well kept and look beautiful, you see the gardeners out all day and all night. They do work hard. The WiFi is hit and miss. It will disconnect you and reconnect you when it wants. It’s not my device as I brought 3 devices (my gaming console, music player and phone) all Lost connectivity and regained all at the same time. When you have it, the bandwidth is great as it is quick and functional. Accommodation (5/5) This hotel is a little bit different than other hotels and this is its selling point. The hotel is divided into ground floor Villas and each villa has four “room” areas. We stayed in 663. Which means it’s villa 66 and room 3. The rooms have anything you need for a comfortable stay. There is a fridge, safe, hair dryer, iron, couch, air con and a rainfall shower. There are only 4 English channels on the TV, which is a bit of shame. Each room has their own private patio with a table and 2 sun beds, so if you want to sun bathe on your private area, you can do. It also means it also guarantees you a sun bed every day. The products in the bathroom are sustainable and environmentally friendly. They topped up frequently. The rooms are cleaned to a high standard. Entertainment

Staffs at the reception and restaurant were very rude. Food was not tasty, same type of food everyday. I went with a group of 46 people for a birthday celebration. Manager at the restaurant fought us for just a bottle of water taken from the fridge as they wouldn't come to ask us for what to drink.

Very excited to go on our first 4 star holiday. Wish we had stuck with our two star self catering. Everybody will always have different thoughts on what’s acceptable but we were hoping for a real treat. I am going to go with the good point first. The restaurant food was certainly a treat, the choice was on another level! However some of the hot food would not have been acceptable in the uk as no where near warm enough. The staff in the restaurant were wonderful, polite, and on their game at all times. So here’s our bad points. We paid for prestige so we were supposed to get mini bar everyday of our stay. We got four days, it would of only been 3 had we not complained. We were supposed to get water to fill the kettle each day I think again only on four days. The sheets were meant to be cleaned every three days - ours were not changed once ! The apartment was never swept, the patio as well. The seats outside were dirty. We had mold in the bathroom which you could smell. The swimming pool was always dirty on the bottom and scum round the edges. If you go half board then choose to stay on site for lunch it was very expensive, it would be cheaper to go fully inclusive. It’s a long walk to Playa Blanca and there is nothing around the hotel so you cannot pop into a supermarket for anything. We felt caged in a bit. All in all, very disappointed it cost us £800 more than if we had gone self catering and it certainly wasn’t worth it for us. The pictures show it looking magnificent and the reception area is, just a pity the rooms not up to standard and the service.

Our holidays whit Costa Roberto Laura and Lulu was amazing, they are very kind, very helpfully the made our holidays. Definitely I'll come back to this hotel, looking for the same entertainment team. The shows was amazing and very funny. Thanks

OK, the reception's line here may be long and slow, the food average, the Moroccan busboys loudly dropping/breaking dishes at every meal, the pools not heated enough, but the spacious bungalow room itself (with a wide selection of International TV channels and comfortable bed/beddings) more than compensated. The free shuttle bus to Playa Dorada is a nice touch.

When we were originally going to book to come to Lanzarote we were put off coming to this hotel as the reviews painted it in a bad light, it couldn’t be further from the truth. We are so glad we booked this hotel. We came as a family of 4 (3 year old and 5 month old) and I reckon our 3 year old has had the best week of his life. This hotel is very good if you have kids especially but would still enjoy as a couple or group of friends. Check in process was pretty quick, on the contrary to what many reviews say and the rooms are modern and spacious, terrace space is a great addition to catch some sun without leaving the room or having a drink at night. Only downside is that the water pressure in the shower is pretty poor. Food is what you’d expect from a Spanish all inclusive, a fair bit of choice but don’t expect piping hot gourmet food, it just doesn’t happen at a more budget 4* resort. But overall I would say the food is tasty and caters for all. The waiter service in the restaurant is pretty poor in terms of turning over tables and getting drink orders, they either need much more staff or a more organised system, sometimes you can be waiting 10/15 minutes for a table which I have personally never seen at a Spanish hotel. The pool area is excellent, children’s pool and one immediately behind are heated exactly as you would want for a children’s pool, pool behind that is pretty cold, would be perfect in the summer months. I didnt queue for more than 2/3 minutes for a drink at the bars, of course some staff are better than others at making drinks and being more efficient, drink quality can vary. The entertainment team are very good, trying to keep you busy in the day and do an excellent job at night with their own performances or on a few nights there are some professional acts, acrobats and magicians, that sort of thing. Mini disco is at 8pm and the kids enjoy it and there is a dj on at 10pm after the live acts playing a mixture of chilled music or more dancey tunes depending on the atmosphere on the night. Overall I would say this hotel is just about everything you want from a hotel stay in Lanzarote, they just need to iron out some very easily fixable issues and it will be perfect.
