I had a disappointing experience during my stay at the Marriott Residence Inn in Plantation. When I booked my reservation, I chose the advanced payment option, but upon arrival, it was not reflected in their system. On the second day of my stay, the hotel manager locked us out of our room without any prior notification—no call, text, or email. When I approached the front desk to find out what was going on, I was informed that my room hadn't been paid for. I was quite shocked, as I had selected the prepayment option. When I asked why the funds hadn't been deducted from my card, the staff were unable to provide any explanation, simply stating, “I don’t know.” What was particularly frustrating was the lack of communication. Why was I not informed at check-in that there was an issue with my payment? The manager had even seen me at breakfast that morning but didn’t mention anything to me about the problem. Instead, they chose to wait until my family and I left for the day, resulting in us being locked out of our room with three exhausted babies in tow after a long day of activities. To make matters worse, there was no apology or acknowledgment of the inconvenience from the manager, who came across as rude and indifferent. This experience was incredibly disappointing, considering the reputation of the Marriott brand, and it has left a lasting negative impression of our stay.
