Chabil Mar Villas - Guest Exclusive Boutique Resort

This is our third time visiting Chabil Mar. It’s been fantastic all three visits. Been twice as a family and once for our anniversary. The grounds are immaculate, the food is great, the villas are awesome, and the staff is excellent. I highly recommend this resort if you’re looking for a small exclusive resort, in a traditional, slow paced, Belizean fishing village.

We booked the 2 Bedroom Seafront Vista Villa for a family of 4 and they were kind enough to add a third bed in the 2nd bedroom. Our villa was very large and comfortable and came with a washer and dryer, which was fantastic for us a family. We had our own ocean view patio and a hammock that I used frequently. You can dine anywhere on the property and we just had our breakfast brought to our patio. The resort is about a mile from the main restaurants in Placencia but they had very nice golf carts for rent and we used one during our trip to go eat if we wanted to eat out. The beach is not really a swimming beach but is perfect for hanging out and reading and relaxing. They have high-quality furniture there and it makes it very comfortable to relax. The staff were great and super-helpful. They even arranged our flights from BZE to Placencia, coordinated with our flight from the US, and picked us up from the little airport. We just paid upon checkout. Just a wonderful place overall. Can't say enough nice things about it. It's exactly what a high-quality resort should be.

My family of 6 stayed for 2 days in an oceanfront suite with loft. The concierge was great and helped coordinate dinner reservations when we arrived as well as a snorkeling day trip. In the evenings they were great about shuttling us to Placencia and back as well. All meals were great, though I do wish we would have tried out more local places. The convenience of the roaming butler service was just too hard to pass up. Plus Placencia seemed like more of a bar hopping town than family friendly so I wasn't crazy about being there at night time. Weather was too windy for water sports but we did jump off the dock some and really enjoyed the pools. I worried a lot about bugs and brought all kinds of lotions and sprays but we didn't have any big issues. My 4yo played in the sand a lot and never saw sand fleas. I didn't realize the villas were all connected to each other. Luckily we only had 1 night where we could hear our neighbors, the rest of the time it was very quiet. If you are renting with the loft make sure your kids are older. The ladder to get to the top is just that, a large, slippery ladder. My kids weren't crazy about it especially when they had to get up in the middle of the night. Overall a nice and relaxing time. I love that the resort was small, my older kids had freedom and we felt safe. Oh and all the iguanas on the property were a huge hit!

This was our last hotel in our 8 day trip to Belize. Excellent service with a fantastic atmosphere. We stayed in an oceanfront villa for 3 nights. The staff was very professional and pleasant. Our group had a end of trip dinner on the pier, what a night!!! Great food and service. Highly recommend Chabil Mar Villas.

Exceptional experience. Although I was traveling solo I never felt uncomfortable. The staff is amazing. Everyone made me feel welcome. Although they were near capacity I still felt like I had the place to myself. I met families, couples and solo travelers and every comment was the same - "What a great place! We will be back." As will I!
