Beautiful hotel, perfect location and very helpful staff they collected and dropped us off to Pingyaogucheng railway station

Traditional inn style hotel, just as you enter the old city. I stayed in a typical stone bed with futon mattress, initially I was stressed I cannot sleep.well but it was perfect. Another plus is the heated japanese style toilet and the breakfast across the street at two local ladies. Cannot get more authentic than this. They offer free driving to the railway station (high speed in my case), which it came as a pleasant surprise as I was not aware of. Highly recommend for simple, authentic local experience 🙂

Excellent location, clean and with all essential amenities. The hostess was very attentive and helpful in booking taxis, suggesting restaurants and giving us some snacks for our train trip. Recommended

Total disappointment – not suitable for foreign tourists We stayed two nights in this boutique hotel in Pingyao, paying a rather high price, but unfortunately the experience was very disappointing. I was traveling with my mother and her friend, both over 70 years old, and we expected at least a minimum level of care and proper service: unfortunately, that was not the case. Breakfast, although included, was served in a small place outside the hotel, run by people clearly unprepared to host foreign guests. We were rudely asked to fill out a form written entirely in Chinese; when I pointed out that it would be easier just to indicate the food directly, the man started shouting in his language, creating an embarrassing and unpleasant situation. We wasted more than half an hour just to get breakfast, and only thanks to the intervention of the receptionist were we finally able to sort it out. Not the best way to start the day, and it created unnecessary tension and discomfort. The second unpleasant incident happened at check-out: the day before, I had arranged with the receptionist for a free shuttle to the train station at 7:40 am. The following morning, however, the girl was not there and instead we found a sleepy young man who was completely unhelpful. He refused to assist us with the luggage (despite the very steep stairs and the fact that my mother and her friend are over 70), and he also refused to take us to the station at the agreed time. He insisted on leaving only at 8:00 am, as written on a note left by his colleague, even though our train was at 8:40 and we needed to be there at least an hour before. In the end, we had to improvise, take an electric cart to exit the city walls and then a taxi, with great stress and the fear of missing our train. On top of that, the hotel itself was not well maintained: cleanliness was poor and our bathroom had a strong sewage smell. In conclusion, this hotel is absolutely unsuitable for foreign tourists: the services do not match the high price, professionalism and assistance are lacking, and there is no care at all for elderly travelers. A big disappointment: strongly not recommended.

We had a very comfortable stay at the hotel—it was quiet, clean, and well-maintained. The staff were extremely kind and attentive, always taking care of all our requests. Keep up the great work! Very comfortable and quite stay near the Pingyao centre! The staff was very friendly and helped us around. We would book it again!
