Great stay! The best one so far during my trip!
When you enter, you'll get a cup of tea, and the receptionists will explain a few things (where to eat, what to see, and so on). After you'll go to your room, which is traditionly built! The whole hotel is super beautiful!
Bed is comfy, I slept like a baby! You'll get a welcome snack, and I had a personal card written by the staff!
Also, the Chinese breakfast is jummie! For the Western people, they also provide another kind of breakfast in case they won't like the Chinese breakfast.
The location is good! Super close to the north gate, where you can grab a didi to go to the train station! In 10 minutes you'll be in the bustling area where you find restaurants, bars and shops!
And when I left, I got a goodbye present!! So kind

Pingyao old Town is gorgeous. The hotel is an old traditional building conveniently located near the North Gate of the ancient walls. The stay was very peaceful.

Brand new boutique hotel converted from a house at the north end of town. Very easy in and out of the old town. I love everything about this hotel. very beautifully decorated rooms with 2 courtyards to relax. The Chinese breakfast is really good. The staff is so so kind. The manager Alice speaks perfect English. A rare thing in China. About 10 minutes strolling to the center of town. Perfect 10

This hotel is the best place to stay in Pingyao! It is located in the ancient city, close to the north gate, which is convenient to stay far from the crowd and take a Didi to visit some places outside the walls. The rooms are small but super nice, facing the internal traditional courtyard. The cherry on the cake is the hotel manager, Alice. She is super helpful and speaks a good English, which is so rare in China but very appreciated as well!

We stayed at the Elsewhere North Gate hotel for 1 night during our visit to China from Liverpool, England.
Easy to find and walk to from the North Gate entrance of Pingyao.
We were able to check in early, and our hosts were very helpful in making us feel welcome and provided advice and recommendations on where to eat and go during our stay. We did the castle walls, my tip is to take some water.
The room was modern and clean with plenty of space. Nice hot shower and plenty of free accessories too, which was helpful eg toothbrush and paste, snacks and coffee.
The location is about 2 minutes from the main street in Pingyao too.

The location is great, just 80 m from the North Portal - since taxis are not allowed inside the city walls, it was easy to walk to from the taxi drop off point. The hotel is small, cute and quaint, and the service was friendly and helpful. The room had everything you'd expect except coffee. The bed is comfortable and it was easy to get a good night's sleep. The breakfast box is simple, authentic North China fare, with mantou, small rice porridge, a hard boiled egg, beef sausage and some vegetables, good start for your day in the ancient town.

A very pleasant stay. One story premise reflecting the vibe of the old town. Room and toilet is clean and comfortable. Great services from the hotel staff from check in to check out. Premise is in the North Gate, so it is quiet because it is away from the crowd in the South Gate. Will definitely recommend!
