TH Pila

The main attraction is the location, right on the slopes. There’s ski hire and lockers at the hotel and you can ski from and too the hotel. It’s a very busy hotel, very popular with families because of its well priced ski package for children. Meal times May seem chaotic till you get used to it but there’s a very good selection of food.

We were worried about the mixed reviews but on balance this was a good holiday. YES the restaurant is very busy but the food was good and the waiters/staff so pleasant and friendly amid the frenzy. This hotel is all about the location and the food. The rooms are dated but adequate. Don’t even factor in the pool as it is very odd and don’t think you’ll be using the sauna as it wasn’t even operational. Pila is a good resort so to be right on the slopes and staying full board makes it a great place to stay. I would go again. Just update the rooms and don’t advertise the sauna if you aren’t going to offer it.

Excellent location and very welcoming! The restaurant served up a great range of food that was of a really high quality. In terms of a skiing location you couldn’t ask for more as it sits right on the piste and it’s around 10 seconds from the boot room. Some comfier seating in the bar area would be nice, but that by no means detracts from the hotel. The room was comfy (family of 4 shared) even if could do with a little updating, but we were happy - cleaned every day and we all slept well! The swimming pool is a funny set up - very deep (2.5 metres at least) with no shallow end, circular and not much chance of a relaxing swim! Nice to have as an option, but once was enough for us! Overall, we really liked the hotel with the location and restaurant being the biggest selling points.

We were a group of 6 friends, staying in Pila for the first time. We’ve been to TH hotels in La Thuile and this was a very similar experience. The hotel mainly caters for families and appears to have extensive entertainment for children until 10.30pm followed by musical entertainment in the bar area until 11.30pm. After this time the hotel was pretty quiet and we were able to get a decent nights sleep. The rooms are very warm and we weren’t able to adjust the temperature in the rooms so slept with the window open which cooled the room, but perhaps not the most environmentally friendly use of energy. The hotel staff were extremely helpful and friendly and most were able to communicate in English, although we did try to speak in Italian. We hired ski equipment from the Ski Rental on site Evo Rental and we were all pleased with the quality of service and the comfort of the boots most importantly! The selection of food was extensive and although the dining room was very busy at meal times, it’s worth just dealing your entry time to avoid the intial rush. Ski in, ski out was exactly that. Straight out of the boot room on to the piste and ski down to a choice if 2 lifts. The pistes and lifts were generally very quiet in the week with little queuing at lifts. The weekends are busier with skiers coming up from Aosta. Well maintained pistes with a large beginner area on Blue 15 with ski school, but more suitable for intermediates with mainly red runs that tend to be a little icy in the shade. Just head over to the reds in the sun first! All in all, a fantastic weeks skiing. Blue skies everyday too! Thank you to all the staff at the hotel and Evo Rental.

Best family ski holiday. Delicious food, friendly staff, ski in, ski out. It was such a treat to not have to cook or clean for a week. Ski hire was in the hotel & the resort is really family friendly. Lessons with Scuola di Ski Pila fun. If you’re looking for a quiet holiday then this won’t be for you but for a family it is perfect. One of our party was Gluten Free and they were unbelievably accommodating with special snacks & gf menu at meals. Top tip: Request a room away from the Theatre as it is noisy until 10:30pm. We were put in a noisy room to star with but they moved us as soon we asked. The swimming pool is a bit of a disappointment as it is 3m deep with no shallow areas & you need a swim hat, your own towel (not up the hotel one) and flip flops to use it. The snow was so good we didn’t mind! Best hot chocolate in the bar too. We’ll be back. We booked through Heidi and they were faultless too! Thanks TH Pila for looking after us.

This was our third stay at TH Pila. The hotel is the perfect place from which to enjoy the slopes. Excellent ski in and out position and facilities. The food is great. Everyday such good quality food and an extraordinary choice and wine on tap. Friendly helpful staff.
