It’s a Super 8, it looks like you expect it too on the outside, no frills. There was Plenty of parking and we were able to park right outside our room which was handy. Reception were helpful and friendly. There was a bit of flaffing with payment and paperwork, but nothing major. Our room was a deluxe king and was spacious. It had a long through open living space with small lounge and desk area, king bed area with dresser and then a bathroom area. The room had an odour which was a little off putting at first. It was clean and tidy, albeit a bit dark and oppressive feeling due to all the dark decor and limited light through the one window. The room had a wet bar, coffee maker, microwave and fridge. The bathroom had bottles of shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. The bathroom had that damp smelly shower curtain smell, needs a good wash and dry. Fairly comfy bed and pillows, sheets, pillows, towels etc all a little tired but clean and soft. We slept really well. The aircon was good. The wifi was really poor in the room, as was any 4/5G. The WiFi was either cutting in and out or in the main just was not detectable at all. Around the pool and at reception it seemed fine. There is coffee/tea selection at reception which was handy. There was also a laundry room which we used (one washer, one drier, $2.50 per wash and per dry). Breakfast was really good, baby waffles blueberry or plain. Chipolata Sausages, scrambled egg. Biscuits and gravy, and something breaded and fried (can only assume chicken). Selection of juice. Coffee, tea, buns, potted fruit, jams, peanut butters, bagels and so on. It was good especially considering it was included. There was a small pool with loungers, seats, tables and some sun shades. The pool was off the car park but to the other side were beautiful trees and foliage. Despite the roadway not being far and the car park being behind it was a really nice spot. Spotlessly clean and bright blue water. Very refreshing. Just off the pool was a separate seating area with comfy chairs, under a pergola with lights. Next to the hotel is an I Hop, Wendy’s, Baskin Robins and petrol station. All in all, the room, provisions, breakfast and pool made it quite good value for money. Two nights was certainly enough though. Pigeon Forge itself is just a long, long ***** of hotels and places to eat. It’s not charming and a little overwhelming on a commercial scale. Reminded me of an industrial park. It had various expensive attractions. You really do have to drive up and down to get anywhere. And you need to have plenty of cash to do anything. Probably a little kids paradise. Gatlinburg was Much more charming, walkable and just a nice place to visit, chill and do or don’t take part in what’s available.
